I remember the first 3 chapters of the book

chapter 2 byzantine empire
chapter 3 Constantinople
the book was an analyzation of the progress of humanity from old civilizations to modern day.
The final chapters talked about eastern culture and Russia.

It talked about Christianity, Judaism and Islam
I think the author was gilbert.

The book cover had a modern man at the bottom. His thinking bubble was the rest of the cover with men in different ages in history with the title in the middle of the cover. I read this book in 2018.
