Nemo (nemoslibrary) | 1505 comments I'm not sure I follow Origen's logic when he argues that the Holy Spirit is made through the Son.

Yes, I'm having trouble digesting this part. Does he here or elsewhere refer at all to John 15:26? "“But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me." It seems to me directly relevant but I don't see it here.

Clark Wilson | 586 comments Today I learned that there was a heresy: "The Pneumatomachians included the Spirit in those things created by the Son mentioned in John 1:3, 'Without him was not made anything that was made.'" The heresy was condemned by the Council of Alexandria, in 362 (a century after Origen's death). I post this merely to note that some others connected this verse to the Spirit. I am not connecting Origen with the heresy.
