I remember very few relevant plot details, mainly some very vivid character details from the beginning of the book. Main character is a girl in her teens, has a younger sister and a single mother. Family is apparently so poor they can't afford an alarm clock, so younger sister has developed a skill where she pictures a large alarm clock and sets it to the time everyone needs to wake up. At some point, they move out of the city to a huge spooky house in a small town, at which point the older sister meets a local boy who might be a ghost or some other form of spooky thing
