SOLVED - Read in 2015-2017 from college library. A man (i think) moved into an older apartment with a landline a came with the apartment. The phone rang multiple times a day with men looking for a woman (can’t remember her name). Main character concluded the previous tenant was a prostitute. He decided to search for her & found out that she was missing. Don’t remember anything else.
