Thorough and powerful book on America and racism from the current period back to the country's founding, including tangible examples across education, labor unions, voting rights, healthcare and even backyard swimming pools.

The author tackles "why" past efforts to bring our communities closer together have fallen short and shares ideas on how we can move forward.

The benefits of increased diversity are well understood but inconsistent with current income inequality and highly segregated neighborhoods. Attempts to tackle racism are not a zero-sum game but requires leaders to move beyond old stereotypes and tropes and focus on drafting policies that address needs of the underserved.

Racism in America was created by white people and theirs to solve; the problem is not with minority behavior. However, demographic changes can be the fulfillment of the American dream and its super power.
