My first two were kind of short. And I do read fast, although not as fast as Katrisa. LOL! Take your time and do you!

Katrisa | 4478 comments I finished Memorial Drive: A Daughter's Memoir. This one was beautifully written and haunting. This has been my favorite read of the toppler so far. I want to check out some of her poetry.

Katrisa | 4478 comments I am farther along than I expected at this point so I think I can also do Dog Driven for Berlin 9

message 112: by Katrisa (new)

Katrisa | 4478 comments I finished Dangling Man. It was not bad. I am starting Sunset Park. I am looking forward to this one because I really liked 4321 and have wanted to check out something else Auster has written.

Katrisa, I had you down for Berlin Torpedoed: The True and now Berlin 9 Dog Driven. Is that correct?

Yes that is correct!

Christina ❤️M❤️ (christir1159) | 1 comments I finished Strange Weather in Tokyo. I disliked it very much. I have already started The House in the Cerulean Sea on audio and will start the ebook-A Monster Calls in the morning.

Laura (apenandzen) | 3380 comments I finally finished a book wheeeee lol. It was a five star read, anyone interested in the Pendle witch trials or just really good writing (can’t believe it was her first novel) would enjoy print and audio versions of this. The Familiars by Stacey Halls

Y’all are rolling! 💪🏻📚📚📚📚📚

I’ve started Chicago #7 task on audio and it’s already great. I may luck out with two really great Toppler reads ❤️ The Women of Pearl Island. Not sure if I can fit in a third into this work week but we’ll see what we can do 💨💨💨

I am so sorry you disliked the book. That is so disappointing and NOT the way to start a Toppler!

I hope you like Cerulean Sea. A Monster Calls sounds good as wee!

Katrisa | 4478 comments Today was Valentines in kindergarten so much less booking than during the weekend when I am all free, lol! But I did manage to finish my oyster book, which was quite interesting. I am going to make my hubs listen to it now that I am done. I also finished Sunset Park last night but I didn't have my laptop on me so couldn't report it.

Was Cerulean a slow start, Katrisa? I bailed on it early but I was wondering if it was my mood bc it seemed like something I should love.

Bless you for being a teacher. You too, Sharon, and all others here. Teachers/school administrators are the best. Touching so many lives every day and making them better. I still remember my elementary school teachers! ❤️

Christina,
I loved The House in the Cerulean Sea. It was a tad slow getting started but then I couldn’t put it down. I think, for me, having been a teacher and principal for so long really made me connect with the characters. We all come from so many places and experiences which influence us in so many ways in how we interpret literature. I hope you enjoy it better this time around.

Katrisa | 4478 comments I finished ArchEnemy today. I thought it was a fun read. I also finished Torpedoed: The True Story of the World War II Sinking of "The Children's Ship". That one had me on the edge of my seat!

It hit me in all the teacher feels: those children shunt aside, the misfits, the talented who aren’t recognized because they standout, even teachers who think outside the box. ❤️

Katrisa | 4478 comments I found The Zookeepers' War: An Incredible True Story from the Cold War on Scribd so I can do that one for Berlin 7

Christina ❤️M❤️ (christir1159) | 1 comments I finished The House in the Cerulean Sea and I don't have anything on audio to help with Berlin.

I am going to start the audio- The Devil Wears Prada for Tokyo #6

Sharon Hopper | 2435 comments I will do She Lost Her Muse for Berlin 4.

message 135: by Katrisa (new)

Katrisa | 4478 comments I tried to find something for Berlin 10 but the best I could do was find a book that is "available soon" from the library. I put The Blue Tattoo: The Life of Olive Oatman (the audio cover has a closer picture) on hold, but If I don't get it by Friday morning it'll be a no go as it's a 7 hour audio book. I'll see what I can find for out Tokyo list

Katrisa | 4478 comments I finished The Liberation of Paris: How Eisenhower, de Gaulle, and von Choltitz Saved the City of Light, it was a bit on the dry side even for a history book.

Christina ❤️M❤️ (christir1159) | 1 comments I have a couple tattoo ebooks... if I finish Countdown City in time. I might. Already about half way.

Katrisa | 4478 comments I finished Dog Driven today. It was a fine book.

And I have about half an hour left of The Zookeepers' War: An Incredible True Story from the Cold War. This one was actually pretty interesting on a few levels - especially since it was just a book I got by searching zoo and seeing what was available. I found the history of splitting Berlin interesting and also what kind of stuff was allowed before there were laws governing zoos!

The Girl Who Reads on the Métro by Christine Féret-Fleury
This one just squeaks by the page count!

message 142: by Katrisa (new)

Katrisa | 4478 comments I will also do Naturally Tan for Tokyo 6. At first I didn't think that was a prompt with anything that would sound interesting to me, but I LOVE Tan France! My daughter makes me watch Queer Eye when she comes over for Sunday dinners :) (But not this last Sunday as I banished myself from the rest of my life to just read and listen to books, lol :)

Laura (apenandzen) | 3380 comments I can’t believe how fast you ladies read! It looks like I’m gonna be lucky to finish my second book, which is for Chicago. I was gonna try for a third but that’s not looking likely with the work week running alongside. I’m going to try listening to my book at work today, see how that goes 😬

Good luck everyone!

message 144: by Katrisa (new)

Katrisa | 4478 comments I am actually going to switch Naturally Tan for Tokyo 2 Death in Her Hands because I can actually fit that one into my current badge and Naturally Tan will fit my next one so I will wait and read it :)

I will be finishing up Countdown City today.

So I will add Berlin #10 with Random Acts of Baby Random Acts of Baby (Random, #11) by Julia Kent and I am also going to start (again) for Chicago #7- The World Played Chess by Robert Dugoni

Sharon, you have mine correct.

I’m trying my best to finish second book, wish I could do a third but it would take a miracle lol. Maybe if the grinch stole my inbox haha 😛- I’d actually much rather read, grinch can have it lol. I’ve been listening to this one while working which is helping! It’s slower but at least it’s something.
