Hello everyone! Join us for a discussion of Lifelines: A Doctor’s Journey in the Fight for Public Health by Leana Wen. Discussion questions will be posted during the weeks of 2/14 (Part 1), 3/7 (Part 2), and 3/21 (Part 3). Dr. Wen’s book recounts her experience immigrating to the U.S. as a young child to becoming Baltimore’s health commissioner, where she focused on the opioid epidemic, maternal and infant mortality, and violence and racism as public health issues.
“Public health saved your life today―you just don’t know it,” is a phrase that Dr. Wen often uses. In our discussion, we will learn more about the life-saving capability of public health from one of the United States’ foremost medical experts. Read through Part 1 of the book by February 14th so you don’t miss any of the conversation!
