Does "The Other Side of Him" appeal to you? A short symopsis:

Inspired by true events which took place in the '50s, this is a story about Claire, raised in the Chicago tenements. She is able to escape her background by winning a scholarship and getting an education. She achieves her dreams, and even meets a man on a blind date, handsome and rich, who introduces her to a life she'd only seen in the movies. In time she learns he is also deeply flawed and she attempts to break up with him. He does not accept this decision and becomes her stalker.

An a time before society had any institutions set up to help victims of abuse, Claire must find her own solution to escape the dangers she faces.
