Danny Mendlow | 8 comments Curious what other authors have found is the best way to connect with new readers on Goodreads. Also, conversely, what have voracious readers found is their preferred way to find a new author/book on Goodreads? Listopia? Groups? Recommendations? Ads?

What's working, and what's not? For both parties?

Jim Vuksic | 1227 comments Active participation in various discussion threads as a reader sharing ideas and opinions with other readers is a very effective communication tool. Let members get to know you as a person. Do not constantly seek clever ways to insert a plug for your book in every conversation. Stay on topic! Reserve self-promotion for those threads specifically designated for it.

I agree Jim. As one of my characters always says in my debut novel... dammit! This is hard :)

Although your advice is fairly consistent internet-wide. Nobody likes spam, and we can all smell when it's cooking.
