Rhainay W | 23 comments The film The Matrix Resurrections, directed by Lana Wachowski, a film director, was released on December 22, 2021. The Matrix Resurrections is the fourth movie in the Matrix movie series, and it is like the first movie concerning the location in the cinema. The film also features some of the old cast, which includes the main character Neo (Keanu Reeves), Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss), and Niobe (Jada Pinkett Smith). The bond that Neo and Trinity share in this cinema is still as strong as it was when the movie series began in 1999, and Neo is still trying to figure out how to make life better for everyone, but with the help of new people, who play a part in reviving the world. These people include Bugs (Jessica Henwick), Sati (Priyanka Chopra), and a younger Morpheus (hahaha Abdul-Mateen II). I have seen the other Matrix movies that came before this one, so ultimately I wanted to finish the series and see the last film.

Moreover, the music in the film went perfectly with the scenes, and the music made the film suspenseful in the right places. In my opinion, sequels are typically not as good as the originals, so I can understand why this movie was the way it was. However, this should not stop other people from seeing the film, especially if it draws their attention. Also, this movie includes multiple shots from the original cinema, so if you have not seen the original in a while, you do not genuinely have to. Also, many action scenes in the film add to the excitement of the movie. Furthermore, the film features Jonathan Groff, who was in Hamilton and Frozen, so it was nice to see him in something contrasting to those two shows. I would rate this movie a 3.5 out of 5, as it was not bad; however, it did not hold my attention as long as I would have liked it too. It is rated R, so I would not recommend it to people below the age recommendation without a parent.
