I read this in spring 2017 from the library. I think it was about a boy who had a choice to make (I think there was a bomb threat? I don't think that's a spoiler), and I think I remember him being gay, but what I definitely remember is there was a section of the book where the main character goes to Subway with a friend and they talk about the "subway challenge" where you try to order without saying "um" or "uh" at all. This book was about 500 pages and the chapters were all very short. It was a hardcover book when I read it, and I vaguely remember the cover being red (although I could be wrong). Any help would be highly appreciated--this has been driving me nuts for months.
