SOLVED. Kids Book, in which Mum is nicknamed 'The Flea'. [s]

I read this book as a child, so it was around in the late 90s, early 00s. All I can remember is that the narrator was a teenage, or tween boy, and he had brothers. They were all taller than his mum, who was small, and energetic, and a bit messy and distracted. They all nicknamed her 'The Flea'.

It's been bugging me (no pun intended) for weeks.

‘Leave Rose alone,’ replied the Flea, which is what the Twerp boys called their mother — she was small and jumped about a lot.
