Been searching for this book for years and can’t find it. All I remember is it was somewhere between 2001-2006, it was in the Children’s/middle grade section in Barnes and noble. It was a hard cover (art was printed on the book no dust jacket) and the pages were glossy. There were a lot of pictures but I can’t remember if it was more of a graphic novel or not. The front had an oval with someone in the middle (I think) and I remember kids in a fantasy world and I really want to say there was a circus or carnival but I can’t find anything that fits the bill. It’s not the edge chronicles but the cover kinda looks that that and kinda looks like the Limney Snickett books! I know it’s a shot in the dark that someone would find this book but it’s been driving me crazy for literally over 12 years and I can’t find it no matter how hard I search.

The Abadazad series by J.M. DeMatteis and Mike Ploog, maybe? It's a graphic novel / comic book series starting wThe Road to Inconceivable - the protagonist's little brother goes missing at a carnival / fairground and she goes into a fantasy world to find him.
