SOLVED. Children/ YA fiction. A mouse lived in a library I think… [s]

It was a book called something like the life and times of basil p ditwiler or adventures of. I believe it was a mouse that lived in a library? The name of the character may be wrong. This is an old book, I read it probably in 1970-1990 ish.

The title you have makes me think of From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler, but there's nothing in there about a mouse that lives in a library...at least that I recall. Is this a novel or a picture book?
