I made a list of some books on my shelves I wanted to get to anyway, so this is a great motivator to make time for them.
Good luck on your list !

I know I’m late but I wish you all a merry new year. Best from Paris :)
Nana.
Welcome Aboard, Cynthia, Kristin, Nana and Jim!
@Jim, you can absolutely still join - anyone may join right up until December 2022!

Thank you Ian, for setting up this fun challenge. I have a bunch of books I'd like to catch up with from previous BOTM discussions, so this is ideal! :-)

Hi Morgan,
I think this is my third time trying the challenge. I never completed 10 books before and I don't think I will this year, but it was a good chance to get some of these off my too read list. I may put out some feelers in the new year to gauge people's interest.

Congratulations Larry!!!
Although you did not win the grand prize 😀, you read the most books, so you get the title of OBNR 2022 Catch Up Challenge Champion !

This is my third catch up challenge and I have never managed to read 10 books in a year, but I agree, it is a great encouragement to read all these books sitting on our bookshelves!
I am also up for trying again for 2023, so I will put up a discussion topic for that challenge in the next day or so.

Rules are:
-Book must be completed in the eligible time frame (January 1, 2022 and December 31, 2022)*
-Audio books and e-books count as long as they are unabridged.
-You must post a comment(s) in the discussion thread when you are done reading.**
-Re-reads are allowed unless you participated and discussed the book in this group previously.
Fine Print Below:
*No group selections from 2022 can be read for this challenge. Only books read by the group from 2012-2021 will count for this challenge. If you started a book earlier, but abandoned it, you can finish it for this challenge. Here is the list of books we have read in the past - Any BOTMs after Dune will not count towards this year’s challenge:
https://www.goodreads.com/group/books...
**You can find the discussion threads for the books by going to the Old Books New Readers homepage and typing the book name (i.e. 1984) in the “Search discussion posts” box and clicking search. When the results come up, you can limit it to only topics. If the discussion is split up by weeks, post any comments on the last week (usually the fourth week).
THERE ARE PRIZES: Once you have read more than 10 past group selections you will be eligible for to win a book of your choosing (no more than $15 US.) Two eligible members will be picked at random.
If you would like to take part in the challenge, create a new topic under the “2022 Catch Up Challenge” folder with a title such as “Ian’s 2022 Catch Up Challenge” and use the template to track your list of books. Once you finish a book, edit your post and put in the date completed. You can go ahead and list the books you are planning to read and can change these at any time, you are not locked in; I am planning to do this to try to remember what I am planning on reading.
Cheers,
Ian
