Sarita | 1386 comments Round 4 is Authors and W.

I have a few books planned which will be 1 pointer.

message 102: by Sarita (new)

Sarita | 1386 comments Warren W. Wiersbe has a lot of smaller (just over 150 pages) books - so I will read one of those for 3 points. I have access to one on audiobook :-)

message 103: by Christy (last edited Mar 03, 2022 10:45AM) (new)

Christy (blissbooksandjewels) | 247 comments I have access to this on audio which will count for 2 points. Naomi and Her Daughters by Walter Wangerin Jr.

message 104: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly (ksnapier) | 705 comments A Bella Flora Christmas (Ten Beach Road, #5.5) by Wendy Wax by Wendy Wax. This time I will finish early - resolution

Staci | 1071 comments Hi ladies. Sorry to have dropped the ball on my back-up book for Round Three.

I just added my book for Round Four which was two points.
Cast the First Stone (The True Lies of Rembrandt Stone #1) by David James Warren

Christy (blissbooksandjewels) | 247 comments I just posted mine for this round. To be honest, if I hadn't committed to reading it, I would have quit halfway through. More bad language than I would have expected from a Biblical fiction novel published by a Christian publisher.

Will try to get a backup in as well.

oh no, that is bad. Thank you for the warning.

Staci | 1071 comments For round four, here's where we are at:

Staci - posted
Sarita - posted
Kimberly - posted
Christy - posted
Tina
Ellie
Christine

And we currently have two back-ups (thank you Sarita!). Tina/Ellie/Christine, will you be posting? If not, looks like one more back-up is needed.

message 110: by Sarita (new)

Sarita | 1386 comments I can have another back up done tomorrow.

But all my back ups is one pointers.

Not sure if we should message the team members a reminder?

message 111: by Christy (new)

Christy (blissbooksandjewels) | 247 comments I was trying to complete a one pointer as a backup, but don't think I will be able to finish it by tomorrow.

message 112: by Staci (new)

Staci | 1071 comments Sarita, you are amazing. One point is better than no points!

I just looked back through the first three rounds and Tina, Ellie and Christine didn't participate. I think their plans changed and it's the four of us instead of seven. If someone wants to message them, totally fine with that. It just appears that they have decided not to participate.

message 113: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly (ksnapier) | 705 comments I am reading a one-pointer but won't have it done in time. Sorry.
HUGS

Sarita | 1386 comments Posted back up #3.

message 115: by Christy (new)

Christy (blissbooksandjewels) | 247 comments Ladies, I'm planning to read Love's First Bloom (Hearts Along The River #2) by Delia Parr . I'm so thankful Melanie posted that list of colors, otherwise I would have been lost! There are a few colors from this cover that match the list - either dusty rose or dawn pink will qualify.

And unless I'm missing something, I think the most points anyone will get per book is 1.

message 116: by Sarita (new)

Sarita | 1386 comments Yes, I also only think we will get 1 pointers this round. That list has saved me as well :-)

message 117: by Staci (last edited Mar 17, 2022 01:04PM) (new)

Staci | 1071 comments I agree it's one point for every book. I also think you can probably find a color that works on any cover.

Here's a few that work by title/author:
Diamond in the Rough (American Heiresses, #2) by Jen Turano The Sound of Diamonds (Steadfast Love, #1) by Rachelle Rea Cobb Sorrento Girl (The Historic Hotels Collection #1) by Dawn Klinge Follow the Dawn by Rachelle Rea Cobb

message 118: by Staci (new)

Staci | 1071 comments Just posted my book for this round. I'll be able to post a back-up or two as well.

Popping in as I saw your comment and just wanted to let you know that it is possible to get more than one point. There are colors with multiple D names (i.e. Deep Deco, Dark Dusty Rose, Delanes Dark Flesh, etc.).
Here are some pages that list colors to see what it looks like:
https://www.color-meanings.com/colors...
https://colorful.fandom.com/wiki/List...

I'm not going to be super picky about the cover color option. If it looks close and you think it is that color, it should be fine. :)

Glad that the page listing colors was helpful. :)

message 123: by Sarita (new)

Sarita | 1386 comments These are books I've finished/reading to be finished in this round.

Please help if you see 2 point colours on the cover :-)

Moonlight Becomes You by Mary Higgins Clark
A Rose for the Resistance (Heroines of WWII) by Angela K. Couch
Chasing Shadows by Lynn Austin

message 124: by Staci (new)

Staci | 1071 comments Chasing Shadows has Deep Deco in the sky colors. And what a great book!

Great! Thank you Staci :-)

message 126: by Staci (new)

Staci | 1071 comments Nice job getting your book posted Kimberly! Looks like you just need to add the color that starts with "d" to your post.

message 127: by Staci (new)

Staci | 1071 comments Third back-up posted.

Sarita | 1386 comments Staci wrote: "Third back-up posted."

You are on a mission this round. Love that last colour name :-)

message 129: by Staci (new)

Staci | 1071 comments Thanks Sarita! Definitely an interesting color name!

Kimberly (ksnapier) | 705 comments I wish I could read as quickly as you others seem to.

Sarita | 1386 comments Work is busy so I listen to a lot of audiobooks!

message 133: by Christy (new)

Christy (blissbooksandjewels) | 247 comments Ladies, so sorry that I didn’t post a book this round. I have a book worth two points, but one of the backups listed in my spot was also worth two. Melanie has already talled our acores for this round, and I don't want to create extra work for her.

Last round category has been posted...seems like it may be a challenge!

message 134: by Staci (new)

Staci | 1071 comments Thanks Christy! You could probably still post, but agree if it doesn't change the points to leave as is.

message 135: by Staci (new)

Staci | 1071 comments Here's the tip for this challenge from Melanie. Very helpful.

The easiest way (in my opinion) to find a book for this category is to look at the tagged shelves of any book you want to read and see if you can find something.

For example, I want to read Riverbend Gap. I click on "genres" on the right side of the page and search the shelves. On the first page there is this shelf: "inspirational-romance", which would be one point...but there is also "2022-love-is-in-the-air-challenge", which would be two points for IS and IN. So I would choose that shelf and link to it: https://www.goodreads.com/work/shelve...

message 136: by Sarita (new)

Sarita | 1386 comments Started Jewel of the Nile by Tessa Afshar which i found a 2 pointer shelf for: https://www.goodreads.com/genres/i-kn...

Also reading:
The Master Craftsman by Kelli Stuart also on a 2 pointer shelf https://www.goodreads.com/genres/inte...

message 137: by Staci (new)

Staci | 1071 comments Nice finds Sarita! I'm probably going to wait and post early next week including a couple of back-ups if we need them.

message 138: by Staci (new)

Staci | 1071 comments I posted mine plus two back-ups. The frustrating thing is I had a book on my planned read list that was three points and I ran out of time. Oh well.

message 139: by Christy (new)

Christy (blissbooksandjewels) | 247 comments I am almost finished with a two pointer...will have it posted by the end of the night.

message 140: by Sarita (new)
