Christy (blissbooksandjewels) | 247 comments I am still on the hunt for any book that can be worth more than one point. So far, I'm finding plenty that have at least one. Anyone else have any success?

message 52: by Sarita (new)

Sarita | 1386 comments No, not yet, also only finding 1 point books. But going to keep on reading as much as possible this 2 weeks to see if I can find a 2 pointer or more.

message 53: by Staci (new)

Staci | 1071 comments Melanie, is it ok to post extra back-ups and they can be used if needed?

message 54: by Christy (new)

Christy (blissbooksandjewels) | 247 comments Yes, I was wondering the same for round 1. I have a 1 pointer that could be used as a back up.

message 55: by Staci (new)

Staci | 1071 comments Me too Christy. I just need to get the sentence but know the page number.

message 56: by Christy (new)

Christy (blissbooksandjewels) | 247 comments So I shamelessly looked at book suggestions from another team, and I have Safe by the Marshal's Side on my Kindle already and unread. It will be worth 2 points.

message 57: by Staci (new)

Staci | 1071 comments No shame Christy!

I just posted for this round. One point so I'll replace with another if I get a two point book.

To Disguise the Truth (The Bleeker Street Inquiry Agency, #3) by Jen Turano

message 58: by Staci (new)

Staci | 1071 comments Just posted a back-up if needed. One point.

The Girl Who Could Breathe Under Water by Erin Bartels

message 59: by Sarita (new)

Sarita | 1386 comments Tina and Ellie currently has no books read posted for round one.

Is there someone who has back up books to use for round one?

I think as long as it was read in the period it qualifies for, we may still post.

message 60: by Staci (new)

Staci | 1071 comments I do Sarita. I can get the sentence from the library tomorrow unless the book is checked out.

message 61: by Christy (new)

Christy (blissbooksandjewels) | 247 comments Yes, I have one as a backup that can be used for round 1 also. It was an audio, and the best I can do for posting the location is say that it was in the epilogue. I tried looking up that section in Google books, but it doesn't appear. If anyone has a copy of Relative Silence by Carrie Stuart Parks laying around to help me with the actual wording, that would be great. There was a mention of a pygmy goat.

message 62: by Sarita (new)

Sarita | 1386 comments Relative silence from epilogue: Hannah pointed at Piggy. “He just ate some cat poop.” “He’ll live. Can you go check on the pygmy goat?” Hannah nodded and took off running with Piggy following,

Sarita, you're amazing!!! Going to add to Round thread now in the hopes that it can count as a round 1 backup.

message 64: by Christy (new)

Christy (blissbooksandjewels) | 247 comments And I just realized I can fill in one more backup for round one if that's allowed. I read one other book during the time period that mentions puppies.

I think we can. just in case Staci can't come right at the library?

message 66: by Staci (new)

Staci | 1071 comments Christy if you want to go ahead and post, that works for me. The book is at the library, but it will be this afternoon before I can get there and then can post tonight. It's page 13 of Erica Vetsch's latest.

message 67: by Christy (new)

Christy (blissbooksandjewels) | 247 comments Posted...y'all cross your fingers. :)

message 68: by Staci (new)

Staci | 1071 comments Thanks Christy!

My book was available at the library so here's my sentence if needed: "He gusted in at the family estate like a nor'easter, plied her with sweets, had one gifted her a puppy that proved to be endless trouble, only to sweep out again on adventures of his own."

message 69: by Christy (last edited Feb 07, 2022 08:40PM) (new)

Christy (blissbooksandjewels) | 247 comments Ladies, they won't count as backups because they were not posted within that round's dates. Since we missed out on two books last round, we need to have at least 2-3 backups on standby that will qualify.

message 70: by Sarita (new)

Sarita | 1386 comments No problem - I wasn't sure when they added the new rule of the backups if we give time till the end of that round for the team members or how the back up posting would work.

But will for the next rounds make sure I post back up books within the round.

message 71: by Staci (new)

Staci | 1071 comments We now have three back-ups posted for round two. All three are one point books. Not sure we need anymore back-ups unless they are more than one point.

Agree. We currently have 6 books posted for this round for a total of 7 points.

message 73: by Staci (new)

Staci | 1071 comments Good news! I was able to replace my read for this round with a two point one. We now have four back-ups posted.

Great news!!

Only 2 1/2 days left to post. Any other 2 pointers that we can squeeze in?

message 76: by Sarita (new)

Sarita | 1386 comments I kept reading, but only found 1 pointers - hopefully the next round :-)

message 77: by Christy (new)

Christy (blissbooksandjewels) | 247 comments I discovered I will have a 2 point backup today. Hope to have it finished by tomorrow and it can replace one of our 1 point backups. :)

message 78: by Christy (new)

Christy (blissbooksandjewels) | 247 comments And unless we hear from our other team members, it may be just the three of us finishing out the challenge for this team. We are the only ones that have tried to keep up with this past round.

message 79: by Sarita (new)

Sarita | 1386 comments Great Christy. Hopefully the others will pop in soon.

message 80: by Christy (new)

Christy (blissbooksandjewels) | 247 comments One of our 1 point backup books can be deleted. I just added a 2 point backup.

message 81: by Staci (new)

Staci | 1071 comments Awesome Christy! Please add Back-up #1 to your post. I updated the numbering for my back-up posts.

Done! :) Anxious to see what our next category will be. Hopefully, it will be easier to research than this round was.

Christy (blissbooksandjewels) | 247 comments Round 3 category has been called (Title, Letter A), and I've already been exploring titles.

Abbie Ann
Abducted in Alaska
Above All Earthly Powers
Accidentally Amish
His Accidental Amish Family
Adoring Addie
The Affectionate Adversary

message 85: by Sarita (new)

Sarita | 1386 comments For some reason the categories called should be easy, but not! I have so many books with A-words in the title, but no 2 pointers

message 86: by Staci (new)

Staci | 1071 comments I'm looking...

message 87: by Sarita (new)

Sarita | 1386 comments I'm starting with After She Falls by Carmen Schober - I need to read a book set in PA and this one is set in that state, but will keep a look out for something which will give more points.

Kimberly (ksnapier) | 705 comments Antique Auctions Are Murder (A Poppy McAllister Mystery #7) by Libby Klein is it 2 or three?

Yes

Should be 3

message 92: by Christy (last edited Feb 17, 2022 12:47PM) (new)

Christy (blissbooksandjewels) | 247 comments Found a couple of books worth 4 points

An Amish Miracle: Always Beautiful, Always His Providence, Always in My Heart
The Amish Secrets Collection: Her Brother's Keeper, Love Bears All Things, Home All Along

The first one is available through my library, and likely the one I'll use for this round.

Great Christy - I have access to an Amish Miracle, so will read that one next week :-)

message 94: by Staci (new)

Staci | 1071 comments Nice finds ladies & appreciate the suggestions. Not sure what I'm reading for this challenge yet...

message 95: by Staci (last edited Feb 25, 2022 07:45PM) (new)

Staci | 1071 comments It has taken me a long time to land on a book for round three. I found a three point book that I am reading now. Pretty interesting.

Amish for a Week The True Story of an Author Staying with the Amish (Previously called Ashley's Amish Adventures) by Ashley Emma

I see Sarita has posted hers and a back-up. Christy has hers planned. Others? How many back-ups do we need?

message 96: by Sarita (new)

Sarita | 1386 comments I think we should have at least one back up for each team member who hasn't posted/responded yet? So about 4?

I can do another 1 point back up book this week if required?

message 97: by Staci (new)

Staci | 1071 comments I'll try to get a back-up as well. Thanks Sarita.

message 98: by Christy (new)

Christy (blissbooksandjewels) | 247 comments Sorry I have not checked in for a few days. This past week was not my best for reading. :(

I am hoping to start the planned book for the challenge in the next day or two. I do have one that we can use as a backup worth 1 point.

message 99: by Christy (new)

Christy (blissbooksandjewels) | 247 comments Y'all, I am sorry. It looks like the deadline for posting is today, and I was not able to read the book I had planned. Between my kinds being sick with colds and stomach viruses, both have hit me today and all I want to do is sleep. I will post my 1 pointer in the thread now.

message 100: by Sarita (new)

Sarita | 1386 comments No problem. Life happens :-)

These past 2 weeks flew by. I also thought I had more time for back ups :-)
