OUR JANUARY READ

I read bwway just two weeks ago at the beach and it was an experience and I'm so happy it was the chosen book, as I liked it very much and is one of my favorites.
I’ve also read Normal People a few weeks ago, and I thought it couldn’t get any better than that. I was so wrong. bwway is a masterpiece. I’ve learned so much about politics, different religious thoughts and point of views about different, and controversial, topics. I thought those letters were so intelligent and wise, even though I can't see me and my best friend ten years from now doing the same, I apreciate their idea so much ( when I finished the book I did write a whole text and sent it to my best friend talking about the book hoping she would engage in my big texts ideas but she just sent a "cool" and "I will borrow it later", but yea, it was a good try.)
The characters are also very interesting, not exactly likable, but fascinating. I related myself very much with Alice... yea.
I love relating songs to books so i loved the idea to choose a song for it and I can think of many, but it just blew my mind how "Time" by Pink Floyd is so relatable to those characters and their lifes and I chose some parts of it to explain it why;
"Kicking around on a piece of ground in your hometown
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way", made me think so much of Eileen, when she quoted that her biggest life goal was to live in a cozy house with her own family in the countryside, but she was stuck, alone, in a job that she didn't love and neither pay good enough. Soon she realises (in my perspective) that Alice got exactly that without even dreaming about it.
"Tired of lying in the sunshine, staying home to watch the rain
You are young and life is long, and there is time to kill today",
is how Alice is feeling in a place where she doesn't know almost anyone. Her job pays enough that she doesn't need to work at the moment. She had to rest due her mental illness.
"And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun" Elieen and Simon. Especially when she thinks of how much she wished they were married so her life would be easier, being loved and finacially stable.
These are just some lines which I think represent them more, (sorry Felix for not mentioning you, even tho I don't like you very much either).
Does it make sense or is it just me?
I'm so happy this group is once again active and I'm excited to read different points of view and opinios of this book as well. xx

Hi :3 amazing suggestion! me and eda, the other moderator, have already read the book and we both love love love it. But since we think a lot of members have also read this book we might just open a discussion topic for it without making it a book of the month. Would love to see you on there xx

We are so happy to announce that we are activating this group and thanks all of you for joining us in our journey of reading. What we have in mind right now is discussing monthly chosen book at the end of the month. Our January pick is Beautiful World Where Are You by our favorite unhinged author Sally Rooney! If you have read the book before or will be reading it in the next two weeks (until the end of January) you are welcomed to join us on the discussion board to share your opinions and comments if you want to. But our only additional request is for you to choose a song for this book and share with all of us the reasoning behind it! Love you all and can not wait to hear your opinions and your song choices. Have a great weekend and happy late new year:3
