I can take longitude 6 with The Aeneid by Virgil. It's 464 pages.

Finished 2/20/22 - 3 stars

I can take the 8 in longitude with Nocturne for a Widow, which has 286 pages.

I can take 7 latitude Clammed Up by Barbara Ross pages 378

I completely understand! Even with glaucoma added to my mix, though, I've been amazed at the difference in my vision in just a week, before it's all completely healed. I had to rummage through my collection of old glasses to find some with a prescription that is more appropriate for the change, and ended up with glasses from at least four years ago. They're not perfect, but until we decide when I'm going to have the other eye done, they'll do.

Nocturne for a Widow (Sybil Ingram #1), by Amanda DeWees, finished 2/23/22 ★★★ / 286 pages

Don't have anything coming up that would work for the last 7, sorry!

Mosaic from Ancient City of Zeugma now located in the Zeugma Mosaic Museum in Gaziantep, Turkey
In a race against time this treasure was uncovered in Turkey where the ancient city of Zeugma once stood.
Located on the Euphrates River, the 2000 year old city of Zeugma had been excavated sporadically throughout the 19th and 20th century. In 1980, the Turkish Government announced the plans of building a dam whose waters would inundate the area. During construction of the dam, archaeologists uncovered a Roman bath, gymnasium, and Bronze Age necropolis which included mosaic panels, pottery vessels and graves. They worked unceasingly through the winter of 1998–1999, uncovering the most widely recognized artifact - the famous Gypsy Girl Mosaic fragment.
When it was announced in 2000 that the area would begin to be flooded, an American philanthropist donated 5 million dollars to fund an emergency excavation of the site, in hopes of saving more treasures. Under pressure, 60 archaeologists and 200 workers, led by Professor Kutalmış Görkay of Ankara University, frantically worked to uncover 45 mosaics, half being almost intact. The above mosaic was on of those found and depicts the nine Muses – the goddesses of the inspiration of literature, science and the arts.
Zeugma is now 80 percent underwater, but the ancient mosaics were carefully and painstakingly removed, section by section and later reconstructed. These archaeological treasures can thankfully be admired at the magnificent Zeugma Mosaic Museum in the town of Gaziantep, Turkey. The huge museum opened its doors in September of 2011, and is the largest mosaic museum in the world.

Fascinating info and videos on the last treasure, Jan!

I saw we were close and stayed up until nearly 4:00 in the morning to get that book done. :) It was a tough one too, so I'm glad to have it checked off the list.
