Wow! What a start to a series. I am looking forward to reading the next in the series.
Jan, I looked and unfortunately my library only has print copies of this book. I sent an e-mail requesting they purchase the audios. I can see how the audio would be so much fun.

I got at least a couple of the audios a few months ago when audible had a really good sale. Didn't know anything about the books beforehand, but they just sounded so good. I hope I can get to them before too long!

They are very fun Meg!!

Appreciate the update Andrea!!

I love that series, and agree with Jan -- the audio makes the books even better. Don't hold your breath, though, with asking for your library to get the books on audio. I haven't seen *any library system that has the audios, so I have to wonder if the publisher won't allow libraries to buy them (or something equally weird). I've only been able to get the audios through Audible, but they're definitely worth spending my credits on :)

I never paid attention to that, oops LOL

Treasure Hunt #15
Ch’en Tsu-Chang Carving
National Palace Museum in Taipei, Taiwan
Latitude: 25.10346296
Longitude: 121.5506382

Our treasure this time is definitely “mind-blowing”. Even though this term gets thrown around a lot, in this case, it definitely applies. This detailed carving of a Chinese boat was carved out of a single olive pit!
This work of unimaginable craftsmanship, detail and skill was created in 1737 by Chinese artist Ch’en Tsu-Chang during the Ch’ing Dynasty. The boat is complete with 8 figures that have been accurately reproduced down to their expressions. The boat’s interior features chairs, plates, and even a figure steering the boat. The boat’s roof features individual rods of bamboo and what appears to be a folded-up cloth. The boat’s windows, featuring ornate and intricate decorative framing, are movable! They open and close to reveal the tiny figures within the boat. And all of this carved into an olive stone measuring an inch long. And to top it all off, the full text of a beloved poem (over 300 characters) is engraved on the tiny underside of the boat, demonstrating again the expert skill of the artist. The poem depicts the poet enjoying a boat ride with his friends on a full moon night at the site of Battle of Red Cliffs.
Our coordinates take us to where we can see this treasured carving. It is part of the collection of the National Palace Museum in Taipei, Taiwan.

I can take Latitude 5 with The Green Mill Murder by Kerry Greenwood, Phryne Fisher #5

I can take a longitude 9 with Haunted in Little Leaf Creek by Cindy Bell series #9

Wow!
I can take latitude 8 with Murder on the Poet's Walk, #8 in the series

I’ll take Latitude 6 with The Rose Code by Kate Quinn, 624 pages.

Murder on the Poet’s Walk (Book Retreat #8), by Ellery Adams, finished 9/4/22 ★★★★
It was every bit as good as the earlier books in the series, and I can't wait to see what happens next :)

A Trick of the Light (Chief Insp. Armand Gamache #7), by Louise Penny, finished 9/9 ★★★★

Careless Whiskers (Cat in the Stacks #12), by Miranda James, finished 9/11/22 ★★★★

LOL ... I hate when younger writers do that!! They make people my age sound like they are ready for the grave.
I'll get your next book marked! I'll be taking note of what you think of it! It's another book we have in common on our TBR's.

Agreed! Not too long ago, I read something that annoyed me so much, I made a note of the line: “I wondered how she had gotten so good at typing. Most ladies fifty and up still poked with one finger like Granny.” From a book published in 2021, this *really seemed... ageist? Sorry, but I'm well over 50, as are most of my friends, and I don't know anyone who still "pokes with one finger."
