Tracy uses her training in hostage negotiations to reach out to Alexy. Was it her training alone that brought everyone out safely, her own innate skills or a combination of both that made this happen?

Combination of her training, her skills and her own way of thinking through problems for the best outcome for everyone involved. She didn;t take the easy way out of just taking out the husband - you could tell she wanted to help him as well as the wife/kids.
