No responses so far....I am desperate. Not sure why I ever gave this book away. Can anyone help?
Do you remember where you got it?Do you think it came from a small local press and not a national publisher?
Unfortunately I am not sure where it came from. It was a gift. I believe from my parents, who have since passed on. To the best of my recollection it was an Oregon (Or at least west coast) publisher, but I have searched current catalogs of all the Oregon publishers I can find to no avail. Perhaps it is out of print? Or maybe my memory is flawed.
Can you remember if the author was male or female?Was the girl in the story a teenager or a younger child?
Don't remember the author gender. I think I picture the girl as a young teenager. But not sure.

Good suggestion to check there….but already tried and failed
(1) Large (8.5x11 or so) green book.
(2) Perhaps 100 pages or so
(3) Chapter book with pen and ink drawings
(4) I THINK it was published by an Oregon, Washington, or maybe California publisher.
(4) Basic plot is that a young girl in a medieval land finds her family has vanished due to a witches spell and the kingdom is dying. She somehow learns that she must complete five "impossible" missions for her family to be returned to her. For example, one of the missions was to get back a black pearl necklace from a clam or oyster or something. Along the way she is helped by a few animals, like a stag.
SPOILER ALERT
Eventually she succeeds and her family returns to her village and she learns that he animals who helped her were her family members. I think the stag was her father. But he is returned to human form when she accomplishes the mission. I think her brother was a frog or a toad or something,
