He definitely underestimated Tracy. His goal was to get Tracy expelled. Nolasco never thought that his complaint would backfire. He is so sure his actions were appropriate.
He definitely underestimated Tracy because she beat him at his own game. But, I don’t think he believed his actions were appropriate, just that he could get away with it. He counted on no one testifying against him. Tracy is just smarter.
I said appropriate because I'm sure he always heard "boys will be boys," and that's what his justification to be one of the boys.
I think he was thinking the brass would come down on her because he got 'hurt' and he would get away with it. Personally, not sure he was hurt enough but whatever :)
He definitely underestimates her and I would bet he underestimates all women that he deals with. He seems the type who thinks us females are only good for being home and looking pretty but not having anything intelligent to say.
Not sure how he thought it was going to go his way - especially when she said during her interview that she was able to take care of a full class of high schoolers without handcuffs. She's obviously got brains and determination as well as thinking on her feet. She even double checked with him that she was to be non compliant.
I agree with everyone. Nolasco thought by reporting it he would get Tracy thrown out of the program. She's much smarter than he thought she was when she turned the tables. I felt like the upper ranks knew some of the things that Nolasco was doing and looked the other way. Instead of calling him on it, they just told him that he should withdraw his complaint. I was not happy with that.
That was a really dumb move on his part. Now the management above him will be watching his actions. He should have just let it go but he wanted her expelled.
