The story begins with Lee and Kate’s murder as seen through his eyes. Your thoughts about that scene and it being written from Lee’s point of view?

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) It's pretty chilling being right there with the victim hearing there last thoughts and insecurities as they are about to be murdered. It being Lee's POV it makes me think that something he has done has started a chain of events which has resulted in the murders.

~Melissa~ | 429 comments The beginning of the story definitely sucked me in. It makes you wonder what has been going on in their marriage lately. Then the discussion in Lee's head of a case he has taken and then the murder. Along with the description from Lee of the killer shapes the readers thoughts as you go forward through the book and meet the rest of the characaters.

Lynn (ftbooklover) I agree with both Lisa and Melissa, there is a mystery regarding their marriage, but their deaths are caused by something that has to do with the controversial case that Lee has taken. Lee's POV is important because Kate doesn't know anything about this case.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3484 comments I agree with everyone. The beginning is a good hook to pull the reader into the story. It makes me wonder about Lee and the case, his relationship with his wife.

What was the reason that Lee was shot first? Is Kate more involved? It is hard to tell since this is from Lee's POV.
