I have long wanted to read this book so this month's science tag gave me the impetus to do so. I have always loved trees with them having a calming influence on me. However, I have learned so much more about their lives that I realize now their integral part in nature and their life giving aspects to all. It was most intriguing to learn of their interconnection with each other and the language they talk to protect one another. Quite revealing.

My sister-in-law raved about this book, and I thought she sounded like a crazy woman. Trees sharing an emotional connection? Then I read it. Love, love, love this book! Then my son (a bio major) read it, too. He promptly bought a copy and gifted it to a sciencey girl he was sweet on, leveraged it into a first date where they went hiking and talked all about the book.I have Wohlleben's newest book, The Heartbeat of Trees: Embracing Our Ancient Bond with Forests and Nature on hold.
I will need to find a copy of the newest book. I am still in awe of the wonders I read about. I won't be looking at trees in the same way given that my love of them has so increased. What insight!
