Happy new year! Life gets in the way of our goals sometimes, but even if you don't hit the goal of # of books read that you want, hopefully you'll enjoy what you *do* read!

It's been so long since I first read this. one of my students needed to read it for school, so I re-read it. It's as good as I remembered.

I was just thinking of that book the other day. I remembered how blown away I was when I read it (in fifth grade?), and thought I should re-read it to see if it's still good and whether a much older version of me still finds it so amazing.

I thought it really held up. it was shorter than I remembered, but that is almost always the case when I revisit my middle school favorites. I still found it moving as an adult, though, and it was fun to play with the internal struggles of the characters with my student. (She's on the autism spectrum, so guiding her through the internal process of the characters became part of what we had to do. I feel like she got a lot out of it.)

Eh. I got this book for free, and I knew it was likely to be disappointing. I like the premise - that overcoming a food addiction should be a spiritual journey, not a series of diets. The predictable disappointments come when she sounds increasingly like a traditional self- help book and as it becomes increasingly apparent that our flavors of Christianity are veeeerrrrryyyy different. Meh, it's over.

weird! Sort of House-of-Leaves-ish, or feels like it's trying to be. Randomly heard about it, and it was free on kindle unlimited, so here we are!

A friend of a friend wrote this, which is how I learned it existed, and I was blown away by how good it was! I care way more about these characters than I planned to, lol. it's the start of a series and now I can't wait for the second to come out.

I hate this book, ugh. one of my students was assigned it, though, so I reread it to help out.

Aw, you're so good to reread a book you don't like in order to help :)

25. Sometimes You Get So Alone Or Just Makes Sense - Charles Bukowski ... I've been nursing this reread all year

Good God, I love this book. Passed on the joy of it to one of my students; we finished it today, and the look on his face was so satisfying.

eh. some were good, some were overrated. I won this book in a raffle at the equestrian center where my kid rides.

Congrats on your 30! And good luck for next year! :)
