Fly Tulip (flytulip) | 10 comments Hello, everyone. I'm new here and am not so sure if that topic already exists. I'll go anyway! :)

Are there people who hide that they're writing? I mean, not here. That's ridiculous! Who hides from friends, family, someone? Who of you feel free to share what they really like only with people online - people you don't see in reality?

Jenna Marie ~Scheming Scribbler~ | 94 comments My family knows, but only my best friend knows that I write other than that. I guess it just never comes up and doesn't affect our friendships. Also, because I'm on the younger side, people tend to think I'm naive for thinking I can publish books, stories and articles, so they just laugh and think its a silly hobby. You guys here and my family don't think of it that way! :)

my family and a few close friends actually know i write but online i think practically everyone i talk to knows i write lol. i kinda share it with as many people as possible, just kinda like to get it out there and see what everyone's feedback is. but when i am actually writing i tend to stay away from friends and family, like find private places like my room where i can write so i can focus and everything :)

Fly Tulip (flytulip) | 10 comments I understand you both. I'm the same - only family and close friends if I don't count this friends online.

So, Jenna, I don't think you're naive, because I also dream my story to be published one day. Have you something published anywhere? For example, on websites, writing platforms, even newspaper? I would be happy to read something from you! ^^

And Kennie, I also enjoy some peace and quiet when I'm writing... Have you ever felt that just when you sit down to write (or read), everyone needs your attention? It happens often to me. That's why I write after midnight when everyone is sleeping! 😈

What time of the day do you write? Oh, and what type of platforms do you use? Or you write by hand?

Everyone feel free to answer ;)

Haha I don't hide that I write - everyone is acutely aware of this fact.

However, no one ever gets to read half the things I write because it's really sensitive character development that usually involves a bunch of really personal stuff...

Fly Tulip (flytulip) | 10 comments I also use Wattpad, Kennie. Now I use Reedsy Editor. Reedsy is very useful website for writers. If you don't know it, I can tell you more.

And it's nice that you don't hide, Denali. You mean that developing your characters includes parts of your personality? Or am I wrong...

I haven't published yet, but I'm in the agenting process of publishing a novel right now, and I'm thinking of entering articles to some magazines and contests.

I find that I write best in the afternoon, and that I'm pretty much unable to write in the morning lol. I guess it takes time for my creativity to wake up! I write on Word, and I'm super biased to it, I love the format!!

Fly Tulip (flytulip) | 10 comments And I would love to tell you more! 😊

Reedsy is free. The paid options are when you need professional help. (To earn credit - invite a friend with a special link 😉).

Reedsy Marketplace (for signed in) - there's an amazing editor! You set your goals, track your progress, make endnotes, suggest changes, split a chapter...

Reedsy Blog - articles for character development, ways to level up your writing, writing structures, random advices, good ideas and so on...

Reedsy Learning - totally free 10-day helpful courses (everything's free).

Reedsy Live - webinars (they're also published in YouTube)

Reedsy Prompts - weekly prompts (win a contest = win real money, I think)
>> "Set your story in a labyrinth that holds a secret" is my favorite! 😍

>> Helpful tip:
After you register reedsy.com will lead you only to the Marketplace. To visit the blog or anything else - use blog.reedsy.com. 😉

It's all summed up! (I don't want to irritate anybody). If you want to know more, I'll be here! 😊
