I've been debating on the series for a hot minute...is it worth the hype?

it's one of my favourites! the main trilogy is the best (shatter me, unravel me, ignite me). it is very character focused, the world building isn't the best tbh, but if you like character driven books, you'll probably like it! it's based around the main character's development and growth. if you like that sort of thing, 100% read it! the romance is good too
yes yes a hundred percent yes!! i started reading the series 2 days ago and im obsessed, the storyline is soo good i stayed up until 4am reading
currently reading ignite mei wasn’t the biggest fan of the first book but the second one was amazing and the third one is currently amazing too
about the novellas the last two seem pretty important to me. and there are some important plot elements in it. you can just read them in e-book/kandle form if it's easier
Literally the best series ever! And one of the main characters, Kenji, is love of my life. It's definitely worth it
I’m on unravel me and when will Warner and Juliette get together? I can’t wait, my patience is running thin.
the shatter me series is absolutely AMAZING. i love all of the character building that juliette goes through. you can tell throughout the books how she starts slowly getting more confident in herself and her abilities, and i love that.
I read the trilogy, two other books after it, and the novelettes in between. I grew an attachment to the series because I was so into the character over its duration. It was fun to read and it felt like I was watching a netflix series, only it’s a book. If you love that feeling then I think you should exceed the three main books, but if you are more of a movie type person then just read the trilogy and you should be fine.
Shatter me is utterly bad, the writing style is something else. It's like poorly written Wattpad fanfic.
wasn’t a massive fan of the first book but absolutely loved the second and i am now currently reading the third and don’t want it to end
here’s my input-it was good. until one of the later books (i can’t remember which one.. maybe defy me?) i had to dnf. it got sooo unbelievably boring that i couldn’t even think about picking up a book. wasted my money on that whole series for it to be meh
hi!ik this is probably rly late but here is my response:
for me, personally, this series is my life. I'm not a huge fan of the author as a person but her books r amazing.
honestly, shatter me pulled me out of my everlasting reading slump and i am so thankful for it else i never would've started to explore sci-fi. for me, i love the writing style (tho i have to agree, the metaphors and similes r a bit excessive). i would like to say that juliette is a bit of a whiny b**** in this book and there isn't much world building (keyword: yet), but this improves over time. the writing style changes as juliette as a character changes, relapsing when she does, becoming stronger when she does. the numbers fade into written numbers (as they're supposed to be) as the series goes on and the similes/metaphors do start to fade away (tho i don't think they ever disappear from the series completely).
i just beg u to give the series a chance. this is one of those series' that u need to read the entire thing before u can actually give a good, solid review.
however, here some important things:
- this writing style in the beginning doesn't appeal to some people
- the covers aren't that great
- it's mostly about the romance until u get to the second 'arc' basically, where it becomes more about juliette's past and becomes international
- the first book is nothing compared to the rest of the series (as an avid sci-fi/fantasy romance reader, i love ignite me, tho the second 'arc' is the best when it comes to more in-depth plot and like action)
- the metaphors/similes are a bit excessive
however, i think u should try out the series. i personally loved it and i hope other people would to but ik this book has many...mixed/negative reviews. it's like the invisible life of addie larue. I've seen a lot of negative reviews for that book but in all honesty, i loved it so much.
thanks! (I'm this is long lolllll)

yes my favorite book series ever. ik some people say only the first three are good but the last three added on to the storyline SO MUCH. and i fr loved it. 100% worth the read.
i’m on the first book and like you HAVE to suck it up and get used to the writing style but once you do that the book is actually really good. idk where the plot is going but yk it doesn’t matter cause like kenji??? adam?! aaron???? they’re all so hot so like i’m not gonna complain. plus the chapters a the perfect length and aren’t obnoxiously long which is amazing
