i wasn’t the biggest fan of the first book but the second one was amazing and the third one is currently amazing too

it was good. until one of the later books (i can’t remember which one.. maybe defy me?) i had to dnf. it got sooo unbelievably boring that i couldn’t even think about picking up a book. wasted my money on that whole series for it to be meh

ik this is probably rly late but here is my response:
for me, personally, this series is my life. I'm not a huge fan of the author as a person but her books r amazing.
honestly, shatter me pulled me out of my everlasting reading slump and i am so thankful for it else i never would've started to explore sci-fi. for me, i love the writing style (tho i have to agree, the metaphors and similes r a bit excessive). i would like to say that juliette is a bit of a whiny b**** in this book and there isn't much world building (keyword: yet), but this improves over time. the writing style changes as juliette as a character changes, relapsing when she does, becoming stronger when she does. the numbers fade into written numbers (as they're supposed to be) as the series goes on and the similes/metaphors do start to fade away (tho i don't think they ever disappear from the series completely).
i just beg u to give the series a chance. this is one of those series' that u need to read the entire thing before u can actually give a good, solid review.
however, here some important things:
- this writing style in the beginning doesn't appeal to some people
- the covers aren't that great
- it's mostly about the romance until u get to the second 'arc' basically, where it becomes more about juliette's past and becomes international
- the first book is nothing compared to the rest of the series (as an avid sci-fi/fantasy romance reader, i love ignite me, tho the second 'arc' is the best when it comes to more in-depth plot and like action)
- the metaphors/similes are a bit excessive
however, i think u should try out the series. i personally loved it and i hope other people would to but ik this book has many...mixed/negative reviews. it's like the invisible life of addie larue. I've seen a lot of negative reviews for that book but in all honesty, i loved it so much.
thanks! (I'm this is long lolllll)
