Sorry, not sure what went wrong there, think I'm a bit tired today!

The Secret of Camp Whispering Pines (Samantha Wolf Mysteries Book 2) by Tara Ellis

Anyone want to buddy read it? It's middle grades, the second in a series, but doesn't really have to have the other read first. About 133 pages.

Heather | 10157 comments Yes Courtney!

message 406: by Tati (new)

Tati Am I the only one that gets depressed with the gap between the leading team and the chasers?

message 407: by Melanie (new)

Melanie (lovebeingvegan) | 13891 comments If you just count books read, and not the extra buddy read points, the teams are actually much closer to the chasers. :) it's the buddy reads that are making the big difference. :/

That's fine, just write seperate reviews, so if you had Soul Screamers Volume Two (Soul Screamers #3, 3.5, 4) by Rachel Vincent , you'd just post reviews for My Soul to Keep (Soul Screamers, #3) by Rachel Vincent & My Soul to Steal (Soul Screamers, #4) by Rachel Vincent

We already split one team up because of that. It's ten of you against 2 of us at the moment.

True! I get why there is an extra point for buddy reads, but in my mind I'm just going to try and catch up in books read ;)

It's a massive advantage for us teams! Well, it should be. Can only say some members let us down...

I have to say that I'm impressed by how many people have actually turned up. I think we only have 2 people who have totally abandoned us. Hopefully people will have some more reviews to post this weekend ☺

message 416: by Berit (new)

Berit | 872 comments Everyone who signed up for serious, said they would read at least 10 books this month. I sure hope everyone comes through on that, so all the teams have a fighting chance!

I can probably read Breakaway (The Penalty Kill Trilogy, #1) by Lindsay Paige with you, if you're still looking to BR it.

Most people have read 8 books, or are on track to read 8 books, I think people have been pretty good for turning up to this challenge, this is definitely the best team challenge we've ever done participation wise ☺

message 419: by Berit (new)

Berit | 872 comments Good! Glad to hear that! My team is working really well together and I'm glad to see that is happening on all teams. We all just need to start only buddy reading! ;-)

That makes me happy because it'll probably increase the chance of more team challenges :P

So do you guys prefer the team challenges or the solo challenges?

message 425: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Gunter This is my first challenge, but I've liked working as a team :)

I think the teams are quite good in that you guys are able to support one another and motivate each other to read more, rather then everybody being the enemy.

message 427: by Christina (new)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4452 comments Team challenges all the way!

message 434: by Tati (new)

Tati I like team challenges as well, but they add a bit more pressure. If it's a solo challenge, if I don't read/review that much, it's okay, as I'm the only affected. In team challenges, the whole team suffers, and I'm not always in the mindset for that added pressure, if that makes sense?

message 435: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90956 comments Mod
Perfect Sense ☺ I've done the april challenge so that you can choose if you want to be put in a team, or if you just want to enter as a solo player for the individual prize ☺

Elizabeth wrote: "Hey I just wanted to ask why if me and Sarah read the same book (The flirting games) why Sarah got a point and I didn't? Just curious that's all:)"

Because 1. you didn't join in the discussion here - https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
and 2. you didn't post to say that you had participated in a buddy read, you said 'buddy: no' - even if you had participated we wouldn't have known if you said you didn't. does that make sense?

You can still claim a buddy read point by going to the buddy read thread and discussing it with the other people who have read it. You'll still have to post to let us know you've done it though, or we won't know!

Berit | 872 comments I don't believe Elizabeth was talking about buddy read points, she didn't get a point for the book, she was told it was not long enough.

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90956 comments Mod
Okay, I'll let Abbie know, the page count for the book has changed, it's 104 pages on amazon ☺

message 442: by Abi (new)

Abi (abi_gr) | 27659 comments Elizabeth, I didn't count it because at the time it was only 64 pages. I'll add your point on when I update the others.

message 443: by Berit (new)

Berit | 872 comments How does a book go from 64 pages to 104 pages? I don't care really, we get the point, but that is weird!

message 444: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90956 comments Mod
It's amazing how different some of the page counts are. Sometimes an author will re-release a book with an excerpt from the next book at the end, and it will bump the length up. Sometimes they reformat with a different font and the page length changes.
