Christina | 4293 comments Ooh s2 might beat chasers..

message 558: by Berit (new)

Berit | 872 comments Congrats to team S2!! Can we maybe make it a rule next month, that you need to post your reviews as you read?? It just would seem a bit more fair to me., Our team really worked hard these last couple days, not knowing there was no way we could win, because the other team had so many points. Does that make sense? All I'm saying is I stayed up all night the last couple nights, for no reason.

message 559: by Christina (new)

Christina | 4293 comments @Berit
yes maybe that would be good because i post my reviews as soon as I get a chance to. And let's say I would've passed the freebies if I'd known haha

message 560: by Berit (new)

Berit | 872 comments I know right?? It also isn't fair to the individuals at the top, they had no idea what was coming. I just personally don't think it's right someone can post 33 Book on the last day. That is all I'm going to say :-) good luck to all!

message 561: by Ashley W (new)

Ashley W (starfallreads1) | 6011 comments Okay. I'm the guilty party. I'm sorry I upset people. I had just been planning to take some more time on my reviews (since I have to update on my phone fit lack of computer), and just kept putting them off.
I didn't mean to ruin anyone's challenge or anything. It was inconsiderate and I apologize. I will certainly consider that in the future, like I should have done here.

ɑƨħŵɑɡ ♥Team Magnus Damora FOREVER♥ (unheard) | 2402 comments S2 you guys are pretty incredible .. well done guys *cheers*

message 563: by Berit (new)

Berit | 872 comments Ashley, you certainly did not run anyone's challenge, I had an amazing team, and made amazing new friends. It just was unfortunate that we did not know what we were up against. I only use my phone as well, but I managed to post my reviews with in minutes after finishing my book. I was only suggesting that in the future it be a rule, that you need to post your review within a day of finishing your book or something. I think that would make the Plainfield a lot more fair.

message 564: by Elizabeth Emily (new)

Elizabeth Emily Browne (snakesandladderrs) | 2186 comments Congratulations everyone!

message 565: by Amy (new)

Amy | 2535 comments @ashley, i don't think you should feel like you've been inconsiderate. At the end of the day I think reading should be fun and some people are taking this challenge a little to seriously. It makes me sad that you feel like you've done something wrong when you usually read a lot anyway. My group is in last place but I'm just glad I've managed to enjoy reading so many books this month.

Sorry for being so upfront but i just feel that complaining about others posting habits really isn't very nice.

message 566: by Christina (new)

Christina | 4293 comments And maybe post the book name instead of x number of books on my shelf. Just saying ;)

message 567: by Christina (new)

Christina | 4293 comments Amy
I get where you're coming from but yes I may have took this challenge too seriously so I felt that way. It's true at the end of the day it's getting some books read.

message 568: by Ashley W (new)

Ashley W (starfallreads1) | 6011 comments Thanks Amy. I really do feel bad.
I guess I sort of thought of it like a game. I wouldn't forfeit just because I'm behind, and I wouldn't expect other people to. I just planned to read as much as possible for my team and thought others would do the same regardless of scores. Sorry.

message 569: by Abi (new)

Abi (abi_gr) | 27659 comments We understand it can be annoying to think you may win, and then see it being taken away from you like that, but there really isnt much we can do about peoples posting habits. Some people write reviews and post them as soon as theyre done reading them, others dont have time to do it that way and have to post them in batches.

Regardless of who comes out on top, you've all done well. You've all read loads, and im sure some of you have enjoyed being in a team more than having it as a solo challenge. :)

message 570: by Berit (new)

Berit | 872 comments Amy, I wasn't trying to be mean. Yes a lot of us have taken this challenge very seriously! Probably too seriously! All I'm saying is that it would be nice to have a rule that people should post their reviews with in a day of reading, I didn't even mention any names. And I certainly did not call her and considerate, I didn't even think that. I also am not saying she did anything wrong, there was no rule as to when you needed to post your reviews. Okay enough already, I think yes reading is fun, this was a lot of fun, I just think my whole team was a bit blindsided, and I needed to say something. Definitely was not meaning to be mean, if anything I have no mean

message 571: by Elizabeth Emily (last edited Mar 31, 2015 03:02PM) (new)

Elizabeth Emily Browne (snakesandladderrs) | 2186 comments Im pretty sure that everyone read what they could and the scores are what they are. Well, everyone on my team read as much as they could regardless of scores? Everyone was trying to beat the chasers after all. Was that not the point?

I also dont think anyone was being hateful towards anyone it was just the shock for the scores to have been changed by that much in such a short time.

message 572: by Amy (new)

Amy | 2535 comments I understand why some people have been competitive Christina, especially the top two teams! I just wanted to ease Ashley's worry, it must be awful to feel like you've done wrong for reading! (these competitions make it feel like an actual sport, haha)

Good luck to everyone by the way! unfortunately i think my team are ruled out of one of the top positions (it doesn't help I'm in a reading slump!) But it's been a good month nevertheless. :)

Reading slumps are awful! I havent had all that much luck with decent books this month either. :( Hope you find a good book to get you out of it soon!

Reading Rediscovered (readingrediscovered) | 876 comments I think this challenge was so much fun! I got my TBR pile from 225ish in January down to 182 and this challenge definitely helped! I may be crazy but I'm aiming for that 0by16 goal!

message 575: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90950 comments Mod
Sorry guys, we've never had a rule about when people post reviews because we know that some people don't write their reviews as they go along, they write them at weekends or the end of challenges, and we're not here to force people to do things differently to how they usually do them. I'm sure Ashley won't be the first or last to submit reviews at the last minute, and while it's frustrating for other teams, I'm afraid that's just the way it goes sometimes ☺ The challenge was to beat the chasers, and Ashley has only been reading books the same as everyone else ☺

I think the problem is I've read three brilliant books in a row and I'm sort of in a state where i just want to think about those books over and over instead of reading something new, haha! I hope you find something good to read soon Abbie! :)

I didn't think it was intentional, i think Ashleys comment just made me feel all sad that she felt so bad for participating. I do agree that reviews should be posted asap but understandably life gets in the way and like Ashley said not having a computer to hand daily is an issue.

message 581: by Amy (new)

Amy | 2535 comments @abbie, three stars isn't to bad but i guess reading 'average' books over and over would be a little frustrating! :)

Berit | 872 comments No worries Amy, hope you find some great books to read super soon! I had a really good time this month, and intend to have a really good time next month as well. I am addicted to team challenges, I am currently on four teams, and things work differently in every group,, And I think we just all were a bit surprised.

This was actually my first team challange, it did get me reading a little more but I don't have a very competitive side if I'm honest! Wow, good luck on all those challanges, I'm sure you'll get a lot more reading done! :)

message 586: by Berit (new)

Berit | 872 comments Not going to lie I am a bit relieved I don't need to race through the current book I'm reading :-) if I finish tomorrow it will be okay ;-)

It's a challenge from some booktubers to have 0 books on your physical TBR pile by end of the year.

message 588: by Berit (new)

Berit | 872 comments Good luck with that Jessica!

message 589: by Ashley W (new)

Ashley W (starfallreads1) | 6011 comments Oh, geez, now I'm making Amy sad too? Not my day. lol.
The irony is that I'm not a competitive person. That's probably why this whole thing happened. I thought, Hey, this month I'm going to add some gifs and make my reviews pretty, not thinking how our would affect scores if I waited.

message 590: by Rachel (new)

I know I'm on your team, so I have no reason to complain anyway, but the whole point is to read as many books as possible for points, so I don't think it really matters when you post reviews.

message 592: by Elizabeth Emily (new)

Elizabeth Emily Browne (snakesandladderrs) | 2186 comments I honestly don't think I could do that Jessica I have almost 400 books on my list and it just increases every day:) good luck!

message 593: by Berit (new)

Berit | 872 comments Ashley, I definitely did not mean to make you feel bad or anything. I probably was looking at it more like a sport, like in baseball if you were down by three runs you know how many runs you need to win, does that make sense? And as everyone has said you did nothing wrong, so let's just all move along :-) I know I had a lot of fun and my team as well, so no need to spend anymore time worrying about it.

message 594: by Elizabeth Emily (new)

Elizabeth Emily Browne (snakesandladderrs) | 2186 comments This is probably not the thread for me to ask on but could one of the mods ( Abbie or Sarah) create a buddy thread for me? It's for Sister by Rosamund Lupton and we plan on reading it for the April challenge if anyone would like to join us?

message 595: by Victoria (new)

Victoria Scott | 2367 comments Ahh, I hate this part of challenges! I start early because I'm in a different time zone, so of course I finish early too. Now I just have to sit and watch all the other teams :P Go S2!!

message 596: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4452 comments I'm a little late on this, but I don't think anyone should feel bad for posting loads of reviews, but I have to admit it was a bit of a shock. :) Great job for reading all of those books! I know I've let my team down and I feel horrible but life got in the way.

message 597: by Brittany (last edited Mar 31, 2015 09:27PM) (new)

Brittany (bblunt3) | 212 comments I remember when we all signed up for this challenge, a couple people asking if it was ok to post reviews at the end of the week. So it was known from the beginning that not everyone posts reviews right away.

message 598: by Brittany (new)

Brittany (bblunt3) | 212 comments On a different note.. I read so much more than I normally do this month. This was a fun challenge for me. I think I may have stayed up till dawn one too many times, because I was trying to finish as many books as possible. Although I did have a blast, I think I'm going to take it slow in April! It will be nice to be able to read leisurely again! I'm exhausted, good night!!

Okay guys, the challenge has officially ended! Well done to everybody!!

Scores will be up slightly later than planned, because I'm afraid I'm doing some investigating right now, but hopefully they will be up later today ☺

Thanks!
