SOLVED. Children's Poem from an older school book about a child in a dark cave. [s]

I had read a poem in an old school book I had when I was a child, it was around 1987 or so I would say? I can remember snippits of it, but I would love to find the book or the poem again. I can remember some parts such as:
I had a dream I was lost in a cave
a cave that was empty and dark and cool
...
and down into nothing I dropped a stone
and it fell like a star, far and alone
then a sigh arose, the sigh of a wave
rippling the heart of a sunless pool
...
and on that hill of the sun it seemed
all the sad sounds in the world fell asleep
.
I don't remember which school book it was in (I was homeschooled and we got our books second-hand) or who wrote the poem, but those parts always stuck with me and I would love to re-read the whole thing. Help?

One night I dreamed
I was lost in a cave,
A cave that was empty
And dark and cool,
And down into nothing
I dropped a stone
And it fell like a star
Far and alone,
And a sigh arose
The sigh of a wave
Tippling the heart
Of a sunless pool.

And after a while
In my dream I dreamed
I climbed a sky
That was high and steep
And still as a mountain
Without a cave,
As still as water
Without a wave,
And on that hill
Of the sun it seemed
That all sad sounds
In the world fell asleep.
