Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 2165 comments What book about the Tudors or Tudor England would you like to have as our Group Read in February 2022?

If it's in a series, can it be easily read as a stand-alone? If not, you might want to nominate the first book in the series, or the most recent book in it the group has not read together.

Can't remember what we've already read as a group? (Sometimes I can't, either.) There's a "group-reads" shelf on the group's Bookshelf.

Two nominations to a person, please.

Natalie (creativecountry0407gmailcom) | 163 comments I will nominate A Song of Sixpence The Story of Elizabeth of York and Perkin Warbeck by Judith Arnopp and To Die For A Novel of Anne Boleyn (Ladies in Waiting, #1) by Sandra Byrd .

Vanessa (decembermagpie) I shall nominate
She-Wolves The Women Who Ruled England Before Elizabeth by Helen Castor Jane the Quene (The Seymour Saga #1) by Janet Ambrosi Wertman

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 2165 comments I really think She Wolves is too early/non-Tudor - it covers the Empress Matilda, Eleanor of Aquitaine, Isabella of France, and Margaret of Anjou. So you still have a nomination left, Vanessa.

I'm sorry. Thank you for pointing out my mistake. It's tricky to find a book that's not already on the group's read shelf.

How about The Nine Day Queen by Ella March Chase ?

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 2165 comments No problem. Yeah, it's getting to be an issue; we've read a lot of the books already (or they're older and harder to find). Next month I may just start over with eligibility; an awful lot of us weren't here when some of these books were 'read.'

Happy New Year to all! My Katherine of Aragon novel came so close last time, I just had to post it again!

William Whalen | 68 comments Sorry, it took me a while to submit my nominations but I've been immersed in The Most Dangerous Book The Battle for James Joyce's Ulysses by Kevin Birmingham which I just completed. While I absolutely recommend it, there is zero Tudor content in it, so instead I will nominate The Queen's Conjuror The Science and Magic of Dr. John Dee by Benjamin Woolley by Benjamin Woolley and Philip of Spain, King of England The Forgotten Sovereign by Harry Kelsey by Harry Kelsey.

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 2165 comments The poll is now open. You'll find it at the top of the group's Polls page, the bottom of its Home page, or here: https://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/2... .

Sandra (sandragulland) | 11 comments I'm advocating for The Queen's Conjurer. I've dipped in and out of it for research purposes and have found it to be well-researched, wonderfully written, and full of evocative details of the time.
