Hey Christine, rather than putting a bunch of random books each in their own post you could post them together. Or say something about them?

As a side note to this, if your cover is not the default one that comes up with your search you can click "other additions" below the add button. If there are other editions of the book it will list them all allowing you to choose the edition you want. Like this

I forget to update here. Here are the books I finished in March.
- YA Contemporary - 4 Stars
- YA Paranormal Romance - 3 Stars (I'm not continuing the series and I didn't like it that much)
- Adult Fantasy - ALL OF THE FREAKING STARS!!!!
- Adult Romance - 5 Stars
- Adult Paranormal Romance - DNF
- YA Fantasy - 2 Stars (MEH)
- YA Paranormal Romance - 4 Stars
- YA Contemporary - 3 Stars
- Adult Romance - 5 STARS LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE
- Adult Fantasy - 4 Stars - the weirdest book I think I have ever read.

Elena good to hear from you! How is everything going in Russia??
On Mockingjay why did you love it?! I am always a fan of other views on a book :)
So glad you love Paige Toon, I found out about her because of Kay. I havent read the two you just did but I want to read them all.
Yay! Glad you join me on the love of Court of Miracles. I am impatiently waiting for news on book 2....
I didn't love All the Light We Cannot See but it was a good book. I'm listening to another WWII book right now and I agree with you. I probably need to take a break from them for a bit after this one.
I've heard that a few times now about the romance line in Daughter of the Moon Goddess. Still think Ill read it at some point.
Loved your update!

@Brittany by God's grace fine for now.
As for Mockingjay nothing in particular but the whole thing made it for me. I also love when there is a trope with a betrayal which is not actually a betrayal, double-agent vibes. I also loved (view spoiler) . Maybe I'm even biased here because I love Katniss so much for her kindness, rational thinking and bravery.
Regarding All the Light I think those books are not made to be loved, you just can't love a book about war, for a regular person it's unnatural. Those books are either good and very emotional or bad and you DNF them.
As for Daughter of the Moon Goddess, it definitely worth reading because of the story itself, it's gorgeous in the best asian traditions. Romantic line felt just somehow poorly connected to the story. If there was no romantic line at all, the story would have been also interesting and atmospheric.

A pretty quick read that I snagged at random from the library. These kids are selected for a special school program that involves them going white water rafting. During the trip the dam up river breaks flooding the gorge that they are in. They then have to survive until rescued. What follows is the usual survival stuff one would expect from a novel like this. It was an enjoyable read.

Being a bit of a book funk I was looking for something mindless to read and these books always scratch that itch. It also helped that it helped with a particular challenge. It was what I expected from the series. Post apocalypse wasteland, mutated things, power crazed tyrants, the characters making questionable decisions, etc. Add in a splash of inbred mutated rednecks in the backwoods of Tennessee and you get the gist of the novel.

This was a random pick for my next audio book. In the beginning of the book it was a solid four stars as it hit a trope I enjoyed. A young FBI desk jockey is recruited by the behavioral unit in a pilot program. She is paired with a grizzled old agent and sent out in the field to help catch a killer. Of course she has a particular set of skills that is just what is needed to catch this killer. It's not highbrow entertainment but I enjoy this kind of thing. Honestly the book was going fine until about the 50% mark. Then the book pulls out a trope I hate. It's not a book specific trope and I hate the trope it whatever form of entertainment it shows up in. The suspect likes X thing so that means 100% that they are a psychopath. Take your pick of what X is and I've seen it. Heavy metal, video games, D&D, comics, online chat rooms, etc. Any one who participates in that hobby is a violent psychopath just waiting to unless horrible things on the world. If they were to take a more nuanced approach were this hobby might be a factor and took time to explore it properly then I might be fine with it but that rarely happens. The suspect has a comic book so they are the next Jack the Ripper. It's just tiring. After this the book got back on course and was rather entertaining but that one section just left a stain on the book for me. I do plan to check out more in the future to see where the story goes though.

This was a recommended manga for me and it was a simple and sweet story that I found entertaining. Two boys are friends, one confesses to the other, says it's not a big deal but asks to continue hanging out over the summer. I won't go much further then that so I don't spoil things. This was a high school romance but it none of the usual drama stuff associated with that. Like I said it was a simple and sweet story.

This was a random pick for me that I kind of regret picking up. I'm just glad I never had to pay for this. This is a thriller where the president of the USA is assassinated and a terrorist organization threatens the rest of the government and anyone who had voted for the president. How to get into this without setting off a land mine. The premise for the book is not that bad honestly but with the events in the world after the last few years it was just a little to close to reality for me. I'm not an American and I'm just an outsider looking in but the events in this book don't seem that crazy for me. Average citizens being encouraged to kill their neighbors based on the their voting choice doesn't feel like a stretch to me. We see plenty of tensions regarding who is voting for who and how those tensions can be escalated. After years of seeing this stuff in real life it's tiring. To then read it in my escape from all these kind of real world stresses just wasn't enjoyable for me.

This is all now firmly in the land of new material for me so I was a little surprised at the twist things took. This series looked like it was heading into a traditional tournament arc when suddenly the series opened up twist after twist with some pretty epic battles. I won't go into a lot because of spoilers but the direction of this novel just got shifted pretty hard and I am now very curious about what comes next.

I have nothing but love for this series and that's that
Currently I'm listening to

I'm also currently reading

After that I'm thinking

I just finished
loved it and am sad I didnt bring the next one with me to work so I could start it right away.

It's only been some two years in the works to finally get to it. A year plus while waiting in queue as the library ordered the book. My hold then expired and I lost my place in queue and it's been nearly another year waiting to get to my turn with the book.
Ah yes, that would do it! They are good on audio too if that ever becomes easier from your library

*sigh* I saw this come up in a new release challenge and I figured I'd give it a whirl. I read another series from this author and thought it was interesting and the synopsis for this seemed interesting. In the beginning I was into the vibe of the book and I thought the MC was interesting. About the 50% mark though I found myself just bored with everything. The book just felt like it was running in circles going no where and I was just wanting something to happen. Then I got to the end of the book and it was just more meh. Meh is honestly the best way I can describe this book. There are so many pages of repetitiveness, a mystery that is lackluster, characters that do little, and so on. This is one of those books where, as harsh as this sounds, I'm just glad it's over. Now I'm off to update my challenges and move on from this book.
I’m delayed with responding sorry guys. But @Elena and @Britt it’s just super strange. I listened to it on audio and I got to like 1.5 hours in and I couldn’t tell you what it was about, what was going on or anything. Nothing made sense at all! I do think it’s wrote like that purposefully as the narrator is not necessarily a reliable one, but it was just so weird. I didn’t have a clue what was going on or where this story was going for a good 70% of it. But I still ended up really enjoying it.

Ah that's such a shame Gord. I'm reading it at the moment, but I'm not very far through. I definitely prefer Schwab's adult fiction to her YA though, so my expectations for this I think are somewhat lower than they would usually be.

My next audiobook is one of my most anticipated reads of this year,

Jo I am so jealous you have started Diamond Eye!! I am on a ridiculously long waitlist for the audio. I may give in and get myself a copy though.
Also totally agree about wanting to read more from Zaynab's POV

I was torn on that twist. Part of me really wanted it to go the other way but this explanation does just feel realistic and allowed them to return to normal after.

Much as I generally hate Amazon and try to avoid it as much as possible, Audible does have some perks!
Yes if she ever does more Daevabad short stories, and I'd love it if she did, I'd very much like (view spoiler)

I was the same! I was hoping it went the other way too, but this did make sense.

I do have a couple credits available, Ive just been trying to use them on things I can't get elsewhere. This might have to count.
Daevabad wise I'd take a whole book on that but a short story would work too!

Elena I will be curious how it is reading the Warping Minds ones where they technically fit timeline wise. Publishing wise they come out after so I read them after knowing so many other things. I do prefer the Spellbound and Demonica storylines still. Glad you loved Dark Arts!
