I bought way too many books from the Audible sale. I used it mostly to add to or complete a few series. I figure I would have used credits on these eventually anyway. Mary Russell and Sherlock Holmes:
Riviera Gold
Castle Shade
The Language of Bees
The Game
Locked Rooms
Pirate King
Garment of Shadows
Dreaming Spies
Mary Russell's War And Other Stories of Suspense
Island of the Mad
The Great Library:
Sword and Pen
Paper and Fire
Ash and Quill
Smoke and Iron
Monkeewrench:
Dead Run
Shoot to Thrill
Off the Grid
Elvis Cole & Joe Pike:
The Forgotten Man
Sunset Express
Indigo Slam
The First Rule
Ghost-in-Law:
Missing in Mudbug
Chaos in Mudbug
Cherringham:
Cherringham: A Cosy Crime Series Compilation
Others:
56 Days
Blackberry Winter
One True Loves
Mage Errant: Publisher's Pack, Book 1-2
The Tomb
Today I added a few books that I asked my library to get, but they didn't:
The Finders
The Second Mrs. Astor
The Second Life of Mirielle West
Constance
No-one of these are available through my library, except 56 Days. I still have a bunch on my wishlist that are under $5, but it is going to take me years to get through these.
*snort* thank you Kristie, for making me feel better about my list. But I am feeling very envious of your list...
Hahaha... yeah. It's pretty bad. lol I have no self control. Someone in one of my other groups just posted that today is World Book Day. Usually Amazon gives away books from around the world to celebrate. Has anyone seen anything?

I looked back on my World Book Day shelf and the books were all added middle of April for 2019, 2020, and 2021. I wonder if Amazon puts them up middle of April?

Kristie wrote: "Someone in one of my other groups just posted that today is World Book Day. Usually Amazon gives away books from around the world to ..."I didn't hear anything. My idea is the same as Janice. World Book Day is on April 24th (I'm pretty sure), and Amazon has the "sale" the week before or around it.
I have been thinking I want to learn more about History for a long while. I have the feeling that my knowledge is disconnected and full of holes. I've added many books to my TBR with the intention of reading them soon, and never got to them, but the recent global events made me gather my energies and go for it. I bought:
Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind
Our Oriental Heritage (#1 in a series of 11 books)
I plan to buy next the three books by Susan Wise Bauer of The History of the World. I'll probably check out the first one from the library to try her style and see if I like it. Historians can be very dry sometimes, although she has great reviews on that regard.
Janice wrote: "I looked back on my World Book Day shelf and the books were all added middle of April for 2019, 2020, and 2021. I wonder if Amazon puts them up middle of April?"I thought it was April too. Maybe she was just confused. lol
Hahaha... I like to rationalize my purchases by reminding myself of the fact that Craig and I share an Audible account, so he will also listen to a lot of the books I buy. Therefor, I am buying for two. ;)

I googled, and it did say that World Book Day was today. The site was all children related, so I'm not sure if it's a different observance.
It's prob country (and company) based. Googling the amazon week, that's in April. World Book Day is the 3 March. But Book Week here in Aus isn't until August.
I picked up four more books in the In Death Series:Reunion in Death
Purity in Death
\Portrait in Death
Imitation in Death
And I'll probably get the whispersync for A Bad Day for Sunshine.
In the last couple of days, I've picked up a few books.Kindle daily deal - A Life Without Water
Audible's 2-1 sale:
Ashes of the Sun
Later Gator
I just grabbed today's Audible daily deal The Stolen Hours. I spent quite a bit of time going through the 2-1 sale, but ended up not getting anything. There were a few books I was interested in, but nothing on my to read list that I couldn't get a physical copy of through the library and I had just bought so many through the previous sale that I figured I wouldn't have the time for them right away anyway so I skipped it.
Well, since I've got a Kindle, I'm more temped to buy books. I bought:- the 5 books of The World of Others: book 1 to 5. I wanted to reread them from the library, but they didn't had the physical copies anymore. I think they got rid of it or offered them up for the annual bookselling of the library. They only had the ebooks. So, I bought them instead.

: I'm very curious about this one.-
: I think this will be my 3rd cozy mystery book so far, but I like the genre.
My hold for The Guncle won't be available for some time yet, so I'm grabbing the audio for our group read.
What the what is up with audible changing it so you can't buy any books through the app anymore?!? (on android)
I don't know, Katrisa. I have an iPhone and we can still buy through the app as long as as you are using a credit. That doesn't seem like something they should want to remove.
On Android you can only buy books using a credit as of today so you can't buy books on sale or get the daily deal on the app anymore. Is Amazon fighting with Google again?
Yes, it's been that way for a long time. You can't buy anything on sale, no daily deals, etc. Credits only.
Oh - so the thing I'm raging about has been a thing on Apple already, lol! I guess I've been privileged :)
I assumed it was a security thing. We're getting hit with a lot of cyber attacks lately.I got The Stone Giant today. Its was released yesterday on audible so I picked it up for Pete - it's great when you have an excuse to buy a book you want ;-p
