Margo I just read Aristotle and Dante over Christmas. I liked it even better then the first one.

I'm debating about getting today's Daily Deal, Deep Night. I got my $5.00 coupon and this book is $2.95. The remainder of the coupon could almost get a second daily deal. I'll just leave it for now and come back later in the day to decide.Kristie, did you get your coupon?
I didn't receive it, so I emailed them last night and they added it to my account today. I got $20, so I used some credits through Amazon that I received for using 'no rush shipping' to buy the Kindle version of Swamp Santa and I'm getting the whisper sync for $1.99. I'm also thinking about getting The House Children. I'll have to look into the daily deal too.
I hope they get that straightened around so that you don't have to keep calling them.I decided to pass on today's deal.
This month, we were allowed two free titles from the February First Read program. I got:A Train to Moscow
Death in the Sunshine
I have never heard of first reads, but I just googled and apparently it's free if you're a prime member? We recently got Amazon Prime Video. Is it the same? Or is there another Amazon Prime? I'm quite new to all things Amazon. I have to look into this. Oh right, except that I don't have a kindle but a kobo.
If you have Amazon Prime, it includes Prime Video. I don't know if you can get PV separate from AP. Check your Amazon membership. Prime comes with a selection of free books. You can download the Kindle app to your phone or tablet. You don't need to have a Kindle reader.
I don't like reading on my phone or tablet, but I do love my ereader. I had this program to convert to epub, I'll have to see if I can get it to work again.
Ah, I think it's a US thing. There's an Amazon.nl too (as of a while) and that's where we have our Prime membership. It doesn't say anything about books, and when I log onto the US site it says it's 1.99 per book. Which still is super cheap of course, so I'll just keep an eye on it for interesting books.

For February, the First Reads offer was for 2 free books and the remainder at $1.99. But if you go to the Prime membership page and then Prime reading, there are scads of free books. I don't know if this link will work for you.

It gives me country restrictions. The Dutch Amazon website doesn't mention anything like First Reads. I think Amazon is just much smaller here, I also had to do my audible subscription through the Amazon UK site because there's no Dutch Audible.
Peggy, I have Prime Video too. I can get free kindle books by selecting Kindle store from the drop down menu then clicking on Prime Reading which for me is the third button across the page, above the pictures of the various tables. I don't use this feature so I don't know how often the selection changes.here is the link I use https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?crid=3HVX6...
Thanks Margo! I tried, but even when I'm logged on to the UK Amazon site, when I click on Prime, it says I have to join Prime first. On the Dutch site I am a Prime member, but there's no option for books (but it has Prime Video, Prime Games, and faster/free delivery). There's also not a button for Prime Reading which I do find on the UK site.
Maybe they'll offer it here too in the future.
Also, no big deal really, as I already have tons more books than I can possibly read anyway ;-)
That's a pity. I have prime video on the UK site but post brexit a lot or UK companies won't deliver to ROI. I've ordered some things through the German site and I don't have Prime membership there so hefty delivery charges. I might change am prime membership to Germany. A lot of people here have made that change but I don't don't know if it would affect my TV show content *sigh* first world problem!
I was thinking the same Margo: I'll just pretend I'm from the UK or US and use First Reads through there! But I worry too it will give issues with Prime Video.
Amazon has an offer. Spend $20 on ebooks between Jan 31 & Feb 7 and get a $5 coupon. So I bought Daughters of the Dragon for $0.99. I have a ways to go. LOL!
I usually go for the sale books under $5.00. I've clicked on the promotion link so that it's attached to my account. That way, if I should buy $20 worth of books this week, I'll get the coupon. If I fall shy of the minimum, oh well. :)
I knew there was a book I needed to get. I'd forgotten that I had yet to acquire our next book club's selection, The Hermit of Africville: The Life of Eddie Carvery. I was telling someone about the premise of the book this morning. The library doesn't carry it, nor does Audible. The Kindle edition was $11.99, so having it go towards earning a $5.00 coupon makes it more palatable. Now I just need to read it before our next book club meeting in March. Still need to get $7.00 worth of ebooks to earn it though.
I need a queen book for the yearly challenge. I don't own anything that fits and had a couple in mind that I could buy if needed. But just now in my daily deal email I saw Queens of the Underworld: A Journey into the Lives of Female Crooks. I had never heard of it before, but it's cheap and sounds interesting enough, so I guess that will be my book :)
I received an email from Audible about a week ago saying to hurry and place the specified books in my wishlist and you'd get a notification of an uncoming sale. I didn't, but I found a link to the sale on Facebook tonight:https://www.audible.com/special-promo...

I picked up Fast Girls: A Novel of the 1936 Women's Olympic Team and Only Child from the Audible sale.
I've had a $5.00 Audible coupon burning a hole in my pocket since the last sale. I've been waiting for a daily deal to spend it on but they have been horrible selections since Christmas. I was concerned because I think the coupon expires next week, so I started looking at the Whispersync connections for me. I ended up using it on Salt to the Sea plus paying about $4.00 more. Just watch - tomorrow there will be an amazing Daily Deal that I'll just have to buy.
I also used my coupon on a whispersync after not finding anything interesting in the daily deals for a long time. I should be getting a new coupon soon for the recent 2 for 1 sale, so I'm hoping something good finally pops up.
Yesterday. I always give it a couple of days just in case. It's so strange. I used to get them, then they suddenly stopped working. I also stopped receiving the the daily deal emails even though I'm opted in and I never received a notification of this last sale. No idea what's going on.
If anyone still has an Audible coupon, now would be a good time to use it before it expires. It looks like they are having a big dollars off sale. Check out your wishlists.
I saw that posted on Facebook. I already spent my coupon, but I'm going to check out to see what's for sale in my wishlist.
I used my coupon on the Ship of Magic... then picked up the other two Mad ship and Ship of destiny on Chirp.
I made a dent in my Audible wish list with their site wide sale! I haven't checked the series I am trying to buy yet, I just went through my wish list and chose from there. I ended up withUntil We Reckon: Violence, Mass Incarceration, and a Road to Repair
Unworthy Republic: The Dispossession of Native Americans and the Road to Indian Territory
Titus Groan
Day Watch
The Icarus Girl
Godless: How an Evangelical Preacher Became One of America's Leading Atheists
God: The Most Unpleasant Character in All Fiction
The Other Slavery: The Uncovered Story of Indian Enslavement in America
Tales of Dune
Goddesses: Mysteries of the Feminine Divine
Then I went back to check how much the rest of the Watch series was and they were all less than $5 so I got the rest of the series tooTwilight Watch
The Last Watch
New Watch
oohhh the Sevenwaters series are also only like $5! I'll probably have to buy those as well. I only have the first one and the audiobooks are audible only so I can't get them from the library
Katrisa wrote: "oohhh the Sevenwaters series are also only like $5! I'll probably have to buy those as well. I only have the first one and the audiobooks are audible only so I can't get them from the library"Yes, you do because they are so awesome!
There are a lot of books on my wishlist at a very low price. I currently have 29 books in my cart with an average price of around $4. It's quite a bit more than I'd like to spend, but most of them are series that I can add now and not spend a credit later. Still thinking about which I want to grab, but it's a very tempting sale.
Katrisa, I'm curious to see what else you end up getting. I ended up taking a few from my wishlist out of my cart when I added series books. It's tough when you have a really long series and each book is $5 or so.
I got two of the Amazon Prime First Reads books.Scarlet Carnation
Cleopatra's Dagger
I probably will get Audible's Daily Deal, Noor. Finally, an interesting Daily Deal. They've been such rubbish since the beginning of the year. I will look at that later today as well as the sale.
I've received a pile of books this month I haven't had a chance to tell you about yet. From the little library:
Devotion
Sharks in the Time of Saviours
In the mail:
The Serpent's Tale
London Falling
The Crow Trap
Sold
A Morbid Taste for Bones
In the Country of Men
It Would Be Night in Caracas
Cemetery Lake
