Good Reads would rather have incorrect page numbers than be correct?

I posted a request to add page numbers to a book on the forum more than a month ago. A librarian promptly added the page numbers in as requested, but with an inaccurate total pages. As I stated in my original post, the book was a brief edition an therefore only included the second half of the entire book. When I replied to the post, I was told that it was the policy of Good Reads that if the book ends on page 921 that is the page count listed no matter what page it begins on. I find this beyond ridiculous! I provided the page number the book starts on in my original post along with the end page. A site like this should endeavor to have correct information on all books and not a blanket policy such as this. I do not want my reading history to include pages I did not read. If a book starts on page 435, including 434 extra pages that are not in book is asinine.

I commented my displeasure in this and questioned the librarian on the issue to no reply. I want an explanation as to why this is the policy and a correction for the future. This cannot be the correct way to do things, it is complete nonsense.

Did the edition you link contain 2 books? Policy is to include the total number of pages per edition.

Here is the ISBN 9780393418200

A Google search of the ISBN only returns results for the Brief 6th Edition Vol. 2, which is only the second half of the book. Even the cover image on Good Reads shows Vol. 2.
