Introduce Yourself to the Group - 2022

Hi,
I joined Goodreads years ago but haven’t been on here for awhile! I have been looking for authors who write in the style of Victoria Holt…anybody old enough to remember her? I really enjoy downloadable audiobooks but lately haven’t anything interesting from the library. Any suggestions?

Last year was difficult and I didn't read for a couple of months at a time, but I think (hope) this year is gonna be much better :))
My goal for 2022 is 40 books.

I like reading whatever seems interesting to me at the moment. I've always been scared of joining a reading group because I think most books are not 'boring' but they just didn't arrive to my life at the right time. Because of this, the thought of forcing myself to read a book just because I'm in a group and have a deadline seemed wrong to me.
Of course, I've always wanted to share my thoughts with other people who is also reading the same book as I am, that's why I started looking for groups, and after reading the description and activities you have here, it all felt non-judgemental, relaxed and fun. That's why I'm following my gut and joining.
Joining this group might seem like nothing, but it is actually a big deal for me!

Welcome Claudia! I hope you enjoy the group. I think the challenges with prompts might be more your style. A lot of prompts are more open ended and you pick how many prompts your interested in. I find I can find a prompt that works with a book I'm excited about at the time. And theres no pressure to do challenges if your just here enjoying the discussions thats fine too.
I love this group mostly for the challange page that you can make for your goal. Everyone uses them diffrently. I keep track of my years tbr and what I read on it.

Sure, I remember her since she was publishing books until the 1990s--basically until she died. I loved her books when I was a teen. sent you a friend request but they didn't give me the option of saying how I met you and you wisely don't accept messages from people not your friend.
Hi, everyone! I'm Bobby! I am a 27 ( soon to be 28 year old ) paraplegic male who fell in love with reading in 2019 when I read my first book " This Is me: Loving The Person You Are Today " by Chrissy Metz.

Welcome to the group and good luck!

My name is Pranavi, I’m 23 years old. I love to read fantasy and fiction and a good mix of non fiction as well. My 2022 goal is to read more books than last year and this year I intend to read at least 12 books. Hoping to discover new reads and to get back into enjoying quiet time with my books. 😊

I am currently doing the popsugar reading challenge to broaden my horizons...and I found this group. I have been a member of goodreads for several years because I signed up on my kindle, but I haven't really delved into it until now. Looking forward to great discussions and recommendations!

Fiction is by far my favourite to read, and I'll pretty much read anything except for romance! Not sure why, but I don't like too sappy of books. Horror is hit and miss for me, I don't like gore but love the twist and turns.
I find myself going through phases of reading where I will read a book a night for a couple weeks, then put down my kindle and not pick it back up for a month or two. I've set myself the reading goal of 100 books this year, in the hopes that I can keep my reading phase steady!
Super excited to be part of this group!

My goal each year is to read 100 books. Some years I don't make it and others I go way over. The most books I have read since I started keeping track is 154.

From Kashmir, I like to read fiction because it helps me to free my imagination, i can wander with dragons or fall in love with dying men, or travel mystical lands.
My reading goal is around 50 books.

I read 100 books last year in my first year of retirement and towards the end lost the pleasure of reading ‘at leisure’ so I’m opting for just 50 this year. I’ve already read 8 in January so unless something drastic happens (or a couple of ‘doorstop’ books) I’m well on my way! I’m not too sure how these groups work but I love books, talking about books and discovering ‘must reads’. I love fiction, and anything that expands my knowledge of history or other topics.

I found the group searching for challenges in the groups - I get overwhelmed trying to decide what to read next, so this looked like the place to go for the option of guided challenges! My goal for the year is focused more on consistency than quantity. I want to read at least one book every month this year, so technically the goal is 12 books, but if I read them all in February, that is still a failure.
Looking forward to getting into things!

- Where are you from? I am from Colorado. Born and raised.
- What kinds of books do you like to read? I like to read Paranormal Romance, Urban Fantasy, Young Adult, anything with a fantasy/paranormal/sci fi basis, anything else bores me.
- How did you find our group? Browsing and cleaning up inactive groups I've previously joined
- What's your reading goal? for the goodreads challenge I have set it at 50. I used to be able to read more, but 50 seems reasonable.

My name's Jaye,
I like reading character centric books, I found your group while browsing through the 'groups' section under community. my reading goal is 100 books this year. I'd rather not say where I'm from, if that's okay :)

hello, my name is Joany. I love almost any and every genre, guess it depends on if I can get into what I'm reading at the time. last year was slow for me, I read 20 books I believe, but had to redo my Goodreads account (which is this one) because I had lost my login info.
This year I am upping the number to 50 books, maybe more...hopefully!
My 3 most favorite in no particular order of novels are, Thriller/Crime, horror, and diverse novels of today. My reading interests vary, and can change back and forth.
hope to talk to you all soon!

My absolute favorite genre is historical fiction, I find that those are the types of stories I can most easily get lost in. Sometimes I will Google the actual historical event to get more info on it or to verify the truth of any details. Other than that, I’m not sure - I think I need to try out more genres to refine my taste. I do like reading romance and self help quite a bit.
I don’t particularly have a specific reading # for this year, I just set mine to an arbitrary amount of 10 books on GoodReads, but my goal is just to get thru as many books in my 2022 bookshelf as I can (and spend less time watching TV ☺️ )
Like I mentioned, I want to explore more genres this year so I’m more than happy to do some buddy reads - feel free to add me and send a message any time!
