Introduce Yourself to the Group - 2022

I'm Lilly, from Germany. I started 7th grade in July, and turned 11 in September.
I love fantasy and sci-fi, but any fiction is welcome really. Except romance. My favorites are Percy Jackson,
Michael Vey,
The Valley,
The Supernaturalist,
The Infernal Devices,
Alex Hunter and
Anne of Green Gables
My goal for 2022 is around 200 books, as I managed to read 178 last year. This is my first time doing this challenge, but I have been keeping track of my books anyway.

Some of my favourite books are:
- ,,To all the boys I loved before” by Jenny Han
-,, Anne of Green Gables” by Lucy M. Montgomery
-,,One of us is lying “ by Karen M. McManus.
-,,More happy than not” by Adam Silvera
-,, Eleanor & Park” by Rainbow Rowell
- ,, Skin of the sea” by Natasha Bowen
- ,, The perks of being a wallflower “ by Stephen Chbosky
Feel free to comment or ask for recommendations!^^

I'm very eclectic in my reading. I bounce all over the place, but I guess my go-to is mystery/thriller.
This year I have pledged 30 books.
I stumbled across your group while looking to answer the question -- What is the greatest number of books anyone has ever pledged and completed? I'm just curious. I didn't find my answer but I did find this group that looks like a bunch of fun!
I look forward to getting to know everyone -- now to go explore some more!
Melissa

Sort of new here, for sure my first reading challenge group 🤗
I found good reads…maybe a year or so ago, I was intimidated so I ran away….I’m back now 😬
My goal is 6 books this year, I enjoy reading many types of books. Outside of books on personal growth, I enjoy a good mystery.
I’m currently located in North Carolina
Yay!! I said something 🙃

I didn't read much last year, and I've realized I don't really know myself as a reader, so I'm challenging myself this year in hopes to discover more about myself.
Good luck to everyone with their challenges!

Last year I managed to read 81 books. My current goal is 50 but I hope to read more. :)
If some of you are interested in chatting or buddy reads don't hesitate to get in touch with me. I'm always happy to meet new like-minded people, but I also feel like it's rather hard to get into conversations on goodreads.

Usually I’m not very active in reading groups, but I have faith in participating in this as my yearly reading rhythm usually gets too many up’s and downs due to (I think) lack of pairing and comparing. I hope that sharing a positive pressure like this challenge can make us all accomplish our goals, and specially have a lot of fun and emotions in our ways.
Salud, and memorable pages to all.

I usually do not participate in groups, as I find that activity dies out and leaves me disappointed ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Just like Aniya mentioned before me.
But I really enjoy the yearly challenges! Competitive freak in me. So I'm thankful and glad to be here, and hopefully get to know you guys better! Maybe we'll stick together for a while as a reading club here :D
This year I pledged 150 books, but I already see it's totally lost its meaning, since I got a big, big pile of graphic novels for Christmas, and they read f.a.s.t. :D So I'm sort of half way through already (-‸ლ)...
I read paper editions, listen to audiobooks, and use Kindle app for graphic novels. Mostly at the same time :D I read in English, Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, Russian and Polish. In this very order.
I don't have favourite books, there are simply too many of them out there. I don't even have a favourite genre... Although my least favourite would probably be romance in Danielle Steel style. Hard pass.
When it comes to the favourite authors - let's see, this is also a messy salad:
Gabor Maté, Kato Lomb (what a discovery this was!) Catherine Steadman, Harriet Lerner, Oyinkan Braithwaite, Christopher Moore, Gulraiz Sharif, Spider Robinson, Neil Gaiman, Alan Ayckbourn, Noel Coward, Roxane Gay, Oliver Sacks, Julian Barnes, Yann Martel (gawd I wish he wrote more!), Alexander Masters (who knows this one?), Agota Kristof, Colson Whitehead, Kevin Wilson, Edward St Aubyn, Jonathan Carroll... these will be my favourite writers 0f 2021.
Graphic novel writers: Neil Gaiman, Garth Ennis, Joe Sacco, Sergio Toppi, Marjorie M. Liu, John Layman...
I'm so looking forward to the priviledge of following your progress, guys!

I usually do not participate in groups, as I..."
Welcome!
I don't think you have to worry about this group dying its been around awhile and looks like as long as goodreads site is around it'll be here. :)

I used to read so much in the past… Everything, anything! But then… I guess life just happened and I found every excuse not to do so and I just kind of stopped.
I read maybe a couple of books total a year and I’m here to change it. I bought my first ever Kindle and I’m excited for it (and the amount of space I’m saving in the house too lol) so bring it on!
Hope to meet lots of people on these weird days and find some more interesting titles along the way.
Happy reading, everyone! 😊📚

If anyone has any recommendations, I would love to hear them! There are so many interesting books out there.

I’m Laura and I live in Ontario, Canada.
I’ve had goodreads on my phone for awhile but haven’t managed to stick to keeping it updated but I have high hopes for 2022!
I’m a fairly avid reader and am currently enrolled in the Advanced Creative Writing Diploma program with the University of Cambridge. Thanks to this course I am introduced to many books that I would never have picked up so am forever grateful. (Luckenbooth is on this list!)
For 2022 I’ve set my goal to just under 50. I’d like to get it higher but no pressure 😉

It's nice to meet you.

I hope to build connections here that’ll help me nurture this new habit. My reading streak started with The midnight library in December 2021. I’d always just read non fiction books every once in a while but that one fictional book sparked a different kind of passion that led me to never want to go a day without reading a book.
Looking forward to knowing you all better

I am Vidya from India. I am so excited to join this group and would like to read with all of you :)
I am a great fan of page-turning thrillers and books on science
The reading goal for 2022 is to read 40 books!
Hoping to have a great year and Good luck to everyone!

Jack from the UK here. I started as a scientist, then lawyer and now I work in sustainability! For non-fiction books I enjoy science, psychology and environment-related books.
I do a lot of competitive quizzing so I'm hoping to improve my history knowledge this year and pick up a few relevant books.
For fiction, I'm working my way through the classics! I've finished Lord of the Rings and Animal Farm in 2022 so far and had a blast. Traditionally I go for horror and fantasy though, so I'll certainly be shelving a few of those.
My target is 20 books, a bit conservative but sometimes work and life gets in the way and I only end up reading emails and work documents, leaving me too tired for leisure reading. I'm hoping to change that this year by starting small and aiming to surpass it. I've recently started writing reviews as well and would welcome any reads and comments :)
Best of luck everyone for the new year!

Welcome, hope you have a great time here!

Welcome, hope you have a great time here!"
Many thanks Priya!

Welcome, hope you have a great time here!"
Many thanks Priya!"
You're welcome Christine!

My name is Michelle, i’m from California USA, and i’m 23 years old!
I really enjoy reading thriller, romance, horror/murder mysteries, social justice, pretty much anything really. But the two genres that take the cake are either romance or thriller books.
I found this group just by scrolling through goodreads and wanting to find more people who enjoy reading and are willing to recommend books to read- I love when people recommend me their favorite books.
My reading goal is to read at least 3 books every month! I’m always open to recommendations please, no matter the genre :)
Feel free to add me as a friend on here!

Some of my favourite books are:
- The Grishaverse by Leigh Bardugo
- The Riordanverse
- The Cruel Prince series
- The Raven Cycle series

I'm not sure that I am going to be very active on here. But I am pleased to be a part of this group.

Hello and welcome Moonchild. Is your username inspired by the Neverending story? Just curious. I hope you enjoy the group.

Your welcome!
Cool. That movie is really cool, I just realized it was a book thanks to Netflix listing it under inspired by books so I will have to find a copy and read someday.

Welcome to the group Claudia! I love dragons.

My goal from 2022 is 100. Last year I read an absurd 232 books, but certainly don't expect that again.
