Amanda (stoneknivesandbearskins) | 86 comments This book was purchased from a Borders sometime during the mid- to late-2000s. It was in the children's section, large (think like a coffee table book where it is wide/tall and square shaped, but not very thick - I believe it was only a few pages long, with most of the thickness devoted to a cardboard panel at the front that held figurines or toys or something along those lines, I don't remember what it was exactly). The cover was predominantly purple, had a picture of a fairy (I think) sitting on a flower.

Anyway, it was fully illustrated and more like a guidebook or encyclopedia of fairies than a story. It gave details on types of fairies (forest, night, house, etc) as well as their life cycle. It was not Fairyopolis: A Flower Fairies Journal, though I also remember that one being sold on the same shelf.
