Checking in!!! Hello everyone!! Speaking of snow, British Columbia got hammered. We don't get much snow on the coast but the interior does but this time, It's white out. We even had a white Christmas.
Sounds lovely. We just had some slight snow powder on the 2nd day of Xmas, but even that was more than what I expected, so I am not complaining. And it was gone in a few hours, anyway. :)
Hello all! Weather is weird here. Had snow a week or so ago but was 70 earlier this week. I guess I'll have to enjoy reading about it.
hi everyone.....Namita i am next door in Alberta and we are in the deep freeze...Hope everyone has had good time this holiday season....
Hi all! Checking in from Pennsylvania. Luckily we have had warmer temperatures the past few days. Otherwise we would be snowed in! It’s been raining a lot since Christmas Day!
Hello, sorry I am so late.I am from Texas and it is cold early morning and hot the rest of the day. Most days we still have our air conditioner on.

I think there is snow on the cover. Also takes place in Alaska be the word snow is used twice on the first page (and then other times later I’m sure).

Awesome! I hope it's as good as it sounds. :D
Happy New Year! Just finished a lovely, heartwarming book, "Once Upon a Wardrobe" by Patti Callahan.
Will post it to the other thread a bit later.

Not yet, but I will, because I liked the Wardrobe book so much. I listened to the audiobook and the narrator was pretty good.
Happy New Year team!I am going to also read Cold Wind. Thanks for the selection, Carrie. Nice way to start out the New Year with a good mystery!

I've read a good bit of it today and I'm really liking it so far! Hope you enjoy it as well!
Carrie, nice to hear that you're liking the book! Mine is at the library, which of course has been closed for the holidays. I'll be picking it up tomorrow. Excited to start it! Great job to all our teammates who have already finished their books!
I signed up with 1 book/week. I am in a kind of pre-UNO slump. :DI keep checking all the books I should/could read and I go like.... "ah, but this could work for a V or colour cover" let's keep it for February. :D

Do we have words every month?
UNO is fun! I'm not hoarding books. I can always find new ones that I have to read. I am slowing down a bit to focus on other things first.I'm so sad. I wanted a feel-good book to start the year, but the one I picked really let me down. So bad. Silver Thaw. So now I'll read another snowy book and hope for better with a thriller.
Both the books I am reading at present have "fireplace" in them - Breakup (Kate Shugak #7) by Dana Stabenow
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (Harry Potter #6) by J.K. Rowling
I really enjoyed Christmas Every Day, which is a definitely a feel good book. It's not as Christmassy as it sounds and has a fantastic book club in it with fun characters. It mentions fireplace at least twice.I also finished Chill Factor. Older and not my favorite thriller but definitely interesting and worth reading. Two of the characters are stuck in a cabin with only a fireplace for warmth.
Some good suggestions! Thanks! I'm still looking...hoping they'll be a mention in one of my many books that I have to read. I'll let you know. Almost done with my "snow" book.

I am also reading a Harry Potter book for fireplace, but I am reading
I am going to read Still Life with Bread Crumbs. it has this sentence on page 152, "He poked the logs in the fireplace."I need to read this for another challenge and didn't expect it to have "fireplace" in it, but I got lucky! It's actually in it in 3 different places.
I found fireplace in an ARC i need to read but it doesnt have page numbers. Does anyone know how i can convert kindle location to pages? I am not sure if it is over 300 pages.

You divide the pages by 100 and x percent so for example you find how many pages ur book has. So 293 divide 100 x 15%
