Nanci | 256 comments This is a note to myself since I'm in so many challenges. Haha!

The book I'm going to read for Hot Chocolate is What Comes After. Hot chocolate is mentioned on page 227 "He greeted us with hot chocolate..."

For Winter Sports I'm going to read The Children's Crusade. Ice skating is a winter sport and it is mentioned on page 83 "...fractured her elbow ice skating..."

Kat (bookworm2017) | 1483 comments I searched words on a few of my kindle books using kindle app. I’m going with this one Can I Give My Husband Back?

message 55: by Stacey (new)

Stacey | 178 comments Thanks, love the title! I don't typically do kindle (more audiobooks). I can search if I get an ebook from the library, but it is time consuming.

message 56: by Rosina (new)

Rosina I am reading Chill Factor by Sandra Brown

Also found Sleigh Bells Ring by RaeAnne Thayne

Highly recommend the author she’s so funny

A few that are on ur list that have hot chocolate Are

Forever interrupted
Stranded
Someone we know

message 58: by Stacey (new)

Stacey | 178 comments Rosina, I've read both of those books and enjoyed them. Hope you do too.

Kat, thanks for the recommendations! I'll definitely look into them.

I read a Beth Moran book recently that I really enjoyed and found from my library. So far, so good and it has hot chocolate mentioned at least once. How Not to Be a Loser

Puck Shy

Ta || bookishbluehead (bookishbluehead) | 83 comments I'll be reading Snow in Love for winter sports.

Nanci | 256 comments Snowflakes team currently has 92 points. Our team has 170 points! Keep up the great reading for this last week!

Anyone signing up for February? I just did.

message 64: by Melindam (new)

Melindam I think I need to skip February. :(
With UNO, plus my new job, I don't think I will be able to manage.

message 65: by Melindam (new)

Melindam BTW, what are you planning to read for winter sports? Any suggestions? :)

message 66: by Stacey (new)

Stacey | 178 comments I'm skipping February as well, but I'll be back!

I'm breaking the romance theme that seemed to be happening and will read An Unwanted Guest. I don't think many winter sports will happen throughout, but they are all guests at a lodge where they are planning on enjoying them before the blizzard and murder. No idea if it is good or not.

Ta || bookishbluehead (bookishbluehead) | 83 comments Another book that's not romance and includes Winter Sports is One by One by Ruth Ware.

I read An Unwanted Guest. I enjoyed it a quick read. A locked room mystery.

My other one if i can get to it will be Hour of Need

I too may skip February, havent decided yet

message 69: by Stacey (new)

Stacey | 178 comments Thanks Rosina! I'm enjoying it so far.

And by the way, not saying that there is anything wrong with romance just found it fun that we had 4 in a row reading it for a winter sports theme.

Kat (bookworm2017) | 1483 comments I’m joining in February and it’s hard to think of books that aren’t romance with winter sports on the other hand I have quite a few hockey

Preeti (preetisunaina) Hi. I need some help, please. I don't have much knowledge about winter sports.
Has anybody read The Deal by Elle Kennedy? Would the hockey referred to in the description count as a winter sport?
There are a lot of instances where the characters talk about being "on the ice", but I wasn't sure if ice hockey is a year-round sport or only played in the winter.
Thanks.

Ta || bookishbluehead (bookishbluehead) | 83 comments I haven't read the Deal but I'd say that ice hockey is a winter sport.

Thank you! I have had that book on my TBR for ages and was hoping to get it read soon.

message 74: by Nanci (new)

Nanci | 256 comments Preeti,
Ice hockey is definitely a winter sport. It can be played on an inside rink any time of year, but it's definitely considered a winter sport!

message 75: by Nanci (new)

Nanci | 256 comments Sorry some of you are taking February off. So many challenges, so little time! :D. Hope to see you back again!

Stacey | 178 comments Too many challenges! I will be back for sure. Very fun.

For winter sport, this is a long shot, but what about mountaineering? This can be done year round but they specifically mention why it is more fun/challenging in the winter. Plus all the snow makes me think winter sport. (reading this...Ararat)
