You know what? I bought a copy last week in this fabulous bookstore! Lets read it next, no matter when it was supposed to be called!

I read the Soulmate Equation and am in the middle of the Love Hypothesis for my #10. So glad they were picked, because they were doubled as my science books. Fluffy science at best, but they are both cute romantic stories that I wanted to get to. as far as I am concerned this is a brilliant TBR clear.

I haven't read it, but that cracks me up, as I am a Reylo fan... I knew it had to be immediately when I saw the cover art. I'm all for fanfic writers breaking into the mainstream, although I suppose the quality may vary (remembering back to 50 Shades of Grey beginning as Twilight fanfic)... I am glad you are liking it!
So, I'm DNF-ng my first #10, Sword in the Stone... I am having such a hard time getting into it and I have books on hold I know are coming in soon. I might try to read my other #10, Imposter Syndrome by Kathy Wang, at some point. An inauspicious start to the year, but what can you do.
I not only read and posted my #10 this month, The Martian post, but I read 2 books from 2021 Unofficial Trim that I did not get to in 2021. I had added them as an alternate option this year to #18 and #1 respectively. Those reads were #18 The Masterpiece and #1 The Wedding Girl
I am pleased to say I have thus knocked 3 off my TBR. A great start to 2022.

If you are looking for a fantastic Arthurian series, check out Mary Stewart's, it starts with The Crystal Cave

Yeah, idk, the tone really sort of put me off... not to mention the rather condescending Foreword by Neil Gaiman. I know I shouldn't use that to judge the actual book, but I'm really not a Gaiman fan and having him pop in to mansplain genres I am already well-versed in left a pretty sour taste in my mouth. I don't know what the publishers were hoping to accomplish there.

I read Good Omens and found it hilarious but then read another with Gaiman and didn't like it at all so I picked up the first few of the Discworld series (Pratchett) and lo and behold that is where the snarky humour I loved came from. Pratchett made Good Omens for me apparently.
@Jen - did you see the show Good Omens? I haven't read the book but really liked the show.@Jenni - me too, that's why I am checking in at 6:30am :-P

Good Morning all you early birds...also here to find out the number and thank you Kelly!
Meli wrote: "@Jen - did you see the show Good Omens? I haven't read the book but really liked the show.@Jenni - me too, that's why I am checking in at 6:30am :-P"
Yes both....liked both but the book slightly more.....It is on the list for Feb's tag too so if you haven't read it perhaps now is the time?
My #18 has a choice of: 18) Breathless/The Survival Guide/Elephants on Acid Elephants on acid would've fitted the science tag, bummer.
Apparently I'm an idiot and wrote one of the titles down incorrectly....I don't have a book called The Survival Guide in my study. I have The Zombie Survival Guide (read a couple of weeks ago) or The Survival Game which is still on the TBR pile so I'll substitute that one in as it will still trim the pile.
My number 18 appears to be The Lost Jewels, which is a potential Buddy Read with Joanne and Hayjay. Its another HayJay month, as I see that she has started the Maid, and that's my next book! After Cloud Cuckoo Land. Should be really fun - and most importantly, TBR clearing.
My #18 books are: The Dawn of Everything: A New History of Humanity by David Graeber; A Master of Djinn by P. Djeli ClarkI'm leaning toward the latter.... a whole history of humanity sounds like a lot to tackle in such a short month!
I'm also debating still trying to get my hands on my other #10, Imposter Syndrome by Kathy Wang. I think I'll toss both in my nominations to my book club buddy and see what gets picked...
@Jen - I don't think I'll be able to fit it in, but someday! My #18 is Idaho! Jen K was interested in this as well so if she can still fit it in it'll be a buddy read this month.
My #18 is Hidden in Paris it would have worked for the French tag.I also have Hidden In Paris -- The Cookbook and will try to review and possibly use it.
I had a doubleheader for #18- both carryovers I did not get to in last year's Trim:Lab Girl - though obviously science, I suspect it fits thought provoking as well
The Masterpiece - which I read this month.
#18 for me is The Greatest Traitor: The Life of Sir Roger Mortimer, Ruler of England 1327-1330 by Ian Mortimer
KateNZ wrote: "You totally will love Lab Girl, Theresa. I’ve got a gem too - my 18 is The Feather Thief, yay!"
Great read Kate, enjoy!

LOVED The Feather Thief! It was such a page turner and absolutely fascinating.
Also made me realize there is a lot of true crime out there that is not all about murder and serial killers and violence which I tend to think is all true crime is.
My #18 is Piranesi, which will fit the tag.I still need to get on it and read my number ten for this month (The Guest List).
Diana H. wrote: "My #18 is The President Is Missing by Bill Clinton and I don't think it'll fit the month tag"Hmmm....it might. It was a fun thriller, but I also remember how much it had me thinking a lot about our vulnerability to cyberterrorism.

Yes, I'm in for Idaho!
Well Diana, I do think that book is kind of thought-provoking and the more fantasy kind of way. If you look at the tag, almost anything could be thought-provoking. It was a real what if. I wouldn’t count it completely out. I liked that book a lot.
Thank you, Amy and Theresa, for your suggestions. I looked through the tags and this book doesn't fit the February tag. Nevertheless, I'm really happy to read this book because a lot of my friends liked it very much.
Diana H. wrote: "My #18 is The President Is Missing by Bill Clinton and I don't think it'll fit the month tag"Up to you Diana, but if H. Potter is considered "thought provoking", so should this be-LoL. No really, I read it too and Theresa makes a good point.
Joanne wrote: " Up to you Diana, but if H. Potter is considered "thoug..."I guess I just need to read it and see if it will provoke some thoughts:))
@ Diane - one person did tag it as thought provoking on page 20 or so of the tags. In case you want some reassurance on that front. It definitely wasn't me who tagged it since that is not one of my shelves. In addition to cyberterrorism vulnerability, while reading it I thought A LOT about what qualities, skills, and experience a president needs...but given I read this during the prior administration, that was already much on my mind.
The President Is Missing fits thought provoking quite well compared to Becoming, which I just read, fitting science - 3 people had tagged it 'science'. *I* certainly don't think the tag science fits in any way, and did not claim it as such this month.
My # 18 - The Pianist: The Extraordinary Story of One Man's Survival in Warsaw, 1939–45 by Władysław Szpilman

Great! I'm trying to decide if I want to read it on Kindle or audio. I believe that there is a song. I suppose I could borrow both.

A song? I didn't know that. I have a hardcover copy I got at a B&N sale years ago.
January #10My read was The Circle by Dave Eggers. Speculative fiction about a big tech company taking over every aspect of our lives. Made me uncomfortable.

Here is info on the song. I think you could listen on YouTube as a complement to the book.
