Q1 2022 Group Read Choices

I’m writing this with the assumption, that I’m not the only one wishing to carry on into 2022.

Because I’m on a book-buying pause at the start of 2022, I’m going to suggest 3 options I already have to hand, and will be reading very, very soon. They are:

Daniela Krien: Love in Five Acts/Die Liebe im Ernstfall
Sten Nadolny: The Discovery of Slowness/Die Entdeckung der Langsamkeit
Juli Zeh: New Year/Neujahr

Which would you like to read as a group?

Just checked, all the books are available in my local library, so I'm fine with all the choices.

Die Entdeckung der Langsamkeit although is most tempting for me :)

Love in Five Acts by Daniela Krien would be my choice.
I am not on a book buying pause but need to read those I own and this is the one.

So we have a draw 2:2 Krien:Nadolny.

Seeing as I will be reading both anyway, I’m not going to cast a deciding vote. I’m happy to buddy read both with whoever wishes to join in.

So, I suggest the following:

Let’s discuss Krien in January and Nadolny in February. (Ladies first, because I still believe in chivalry … and I think Nadolny will be a little more challenging.) But I’ll set up both topics, so you can pitch in whenever you’re ready.

I‘ll take part in the Entdeckung der Langsamkeit, the other two I‘ve read. I liked both, though they dealt with some rough stuff. I wouldn‘t want to re-read Neujahr, that story still haunts me.
