This is a BRILLIANT book. So many mixed emotions whilst reading this book. And the amount of research that has gone into this book is outstanding. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ LOVED IT.

Kim (kimborams) | 1568 comments I'm not a great lover of poetry but was inspired to read this as it was the theme of Patrick Gale's latest book, Mother's Boy:-

Collected Poems 1951-1975 by Charles Causley Collected Poems 1951-1975 by Charles Causley

Quite appropriate to be reading this at the moment as we are in Cornwall on holiday, where the author lived and many of his poems are based.

Deb Omnivorous Reader | 1929 comments Currently reading The Fogging by Luke Horton by Luke Horton and it is Australian. An Aussie couple from Melbourne go on holiday to Bali.

Kind of the stereotypical, Aussie, resort holiday.

I am not LOVING it so far, nicely written, but in third person so I feel detached from the characters who, while realistic, are not particularly nice.

Would probably work for people who like reading unlikeable characters.

What are you thinking of The Next Girl Glenn?

message 49: by Glenn (new)

Glenn Tucker | 5 comments Brenda wrote: "What are you thinking of The Next Girl Glenn?"

Hi Brenda, I just finished reading The Next Girl. Sensational story and I am not typically a fiction reader, but I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Now I've dropped fiction for the moment and started Don't Sweat the Small Stuff for Men.

Don't Sweat the Small Stuff for Men Simple Ways to Minimize Stress in a Competitive World by Richard Carlson

I have no doubt there is more fiction in my future, I'll be sure to post about it when I find my next one. :)
