Sorry, Jannene, I have been avoiding it. I can’t want to finish it jet and I am reading Walt Longmire as an excuse to go back there. He makes me feel better.
Cherie wrote: "Sorry, Jannene, I have been avoiding it. I can’t want to finish it jet and I am reading Walt Longmire as an excuse to go back there. He makes me feel better."I totally can understand that. You got to the part where it reminds me of ‘The Walking Dead’ movie.
LOL! While I was off with Walt, Jane fell off of the library shelf on my tablet. I just got her back today. I am in part 6, chapter 11. Dubose and Jergen are at the blue house in California and Gottfrey is just arriving in Conroe, Texas.I am curious about what led him there.
Cherie wrote: "LOL! While I was off with Walt…"I wondered what happened. I thought you gave up on her.
Finished the Crimson Lake series. It was great, my favorite was the last book. Dom and I kill another one.
Jannene wrote: "Dom and I finished Redemption Point. Tomorrow we start the last in that series Gone by Midnight."Great series! I enjoy Candice Fox's books.
There is a recent television series based on the Crimson Lake series. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt13315664/.
I finally finished The Whispering Room. Let me know when you and Don want to read the next one. I put a hold on The Night Window, but I can defer the availability. I am #1 on 1 copy (about two weeks.)

We are ready when you get the book. We have been wanting to figure out how it all ends. 😀
Dom and I finished Shadowcaster. Checking in with Cherie to see if she’s ready to finish Jane. If not, we will start Stormcaster.
Re Jane Hawk - just so much more awful that they have “named” types for the adjusted people! Have we seen “rayshaws” before? This Hollister guy is too much!
Jane still gives me heartburn! The Charlie Weatherwax character is just wrong. I guess he had to be an Arcadian operative. What else would one do while waiting for an assignment but commit random acts of wrongness? And what - Vickram just THINKS that he has quit the FBI??? I may never read another Koontz book again. Do you want me to use spoilers?
Cherie wrote: "Re Jane Hawk - just so much more awful that they have “named” types for the adjusted people! Have we seen “rayshaws” before? This Hollister guy is too much!"I don’t think we have seen that. Now Bobby is pain off too.
Finally - some humor. Vikram does seem out of his mind! The 15 million dollars conversation is cracking me up. 🤪
Cherie wrote: "Finally - some humor. Vikram does seem out of his mind! The 15 million dollars conversation is cracking me up. 🤪"I love Jane’s exasperation with him not grasping the concept that this isn’t a game. The antacid part I laughed out loud.
Vikram is crazy but in a good way. I hope the director Buckle survives, even though he has no experience, he's still alive. I thought when Weatherwax arrived to the house owned by Vikram was a trap , it was but not the way I expected.
Cherie wrote: "Oh no, I cannot believe that that guy just stole Travis????"It gets good. I just love Cornell.
I finished the book last night. It’s sad that is the end of the Jane Hawk series.
IDK - seems to be getting kind of silly. Just at 44%. The group at the warehouse “You have been Vikramized”??? Hollister under the bridge having hallucinations??? Jane and V having breakfast at the Holliday Inn...
Cherie wrote: "IDK - seems to be getting kind of silly. Just at 44%. The group at the warehouse “You have been Vikramized”??? Hollister under the bridge having hallucinations??? Jane and V having breakfast at the..."Yes, I agree some of that is silly. Also repetitive with the Bobby point of view.
Ok, I’m getting anxious again! V’s cousin/brother’s fubar, Fencing Travis??? Butler almostgetting away???I think we may need an Ark here in Hillsboro soon. Nothing but rain, rain, rain and more. My grass is knee high and the blackberries in my side yard are reaching over the fence like sharks waiting to put their teeth into the foot traffic on the sidewalk. Hard to cut them with one hand holding an umbrella. 🤪.
Jannene wrote: "Cherie wrote: "IDK - seems to be getting kind of silly. Just at 44%. The group at the warehouse “You have been Vikramized”??? Hollister under the bridge having hallucinations??? Jane and V having b..."Too many repetitions Mustafa's part is just annoying as hell.

Our June is so far basically rain and humidity and on top of that allergy season. The only thing you hear at home and work, is my sneezing
Oh, Dom. I am sorry you are suffering with the allergies! The spring stuff doesn’t bother me at all, but I do get some sneezing and itchy eyes in the fall. Not every year though. Knock-on-wood!I feel very bad for Ganesh. I don’t want to know what Charlie and Mustafa are going to do to him. Oh damn - back to Tom Buckle. Who talked me into reading these stories? I like Walt Longmire much better! I want to go snuggle under the blankets with him and the Cheyenne Nation for a few weeks after finishing a Jane Hawk story. 😲
Finished. It was a good ending but some things could've been written better. We'll chat after you finish Cherie.Read an article and they said this year's allergies are worst than ever. Their solution is to stay indoors.. yeah right, went through a pandemic inside and l'm supposed to stay more inside, nope.

Amen! I’ve been taking Flonase nightly. I’ve never had to do that before.

Today was a good day. Just went grocery shopping early and stayed home. You should see the pollen, so much it looks like snow, been like this since last week.
Well, with all of the rain we have had, I have been staying in the house much more than I normally would have. The only problem is the growth of all the weeds and grass around my house. Regarding Jane. I keep having these questions going through my mind as I ‘m reading.
1. What is making Hollister have the delusions and do we find out?
2. The new control question is “Do you see the red queen?” Do all of the nano-injected people have to be re-taught to respond to the new saying each time it changes? How do they do it? Seems a major undertaking!
Other comments re JH: I was glad that Cornell got to be the hero, get himself free, and rescue Travis from Bernie. It was awesome! Waiting on what is going to happen with Charlie and Mustaffa on the raid at De Soto’s place. I like the guy that picked up Tom.
Seriously? How did those guys miss Tom Buckle hiding in the cedar chest? This girl, Felicity, “After the revolution, as an Arcadian, she will be always at the highest level. She doesn’t know that it will get boring always being at the top with no one or nothing to challenge her anymore?
I can’t figure out where the story is going. Not good, I suspect. How can it end at this point, with 21% in the last book left when we have had Jane getting away from one close call after another in four previous books? Are the bad guys going to win?
Yes, Felicity and her arrogance sent me up a tree but they all are power hungry. Right, the cedar chest?? I was like what?I loved the scene where Cornell was desperately trying to get the duct tape off Bernie without touching him. 😂
At some point the mention of power was getting to repetitive. Well a lot of thing were repeated way too many times. Mustafa was annoying.
It feels like the bad guys are going to pinpoint Jane and Vikram and drop a bomb on them or something. They are way out in nowhere land with no where to go! Seems like a big mistake to me. I don’t see how Jane is going to be able to expose the Arcadians and do something with all of the adjusted people, even IF they get all of the names. They still do not know the new control phrase. What would they tell the adjusted people, even if they did?
My heartburn is back. 😱
Yeah - I will finish it today. I am at 90% now. I was sidetracked by the audiobook I was listening to.
I finished it! It was a better ending than I thought it would be. I really had no idea how Koontz was going to pull it off, but I liked it. Thanks for inviting me to read the series along with the two of you, even if I am a putz and get stressed out.
Do we have common ground for any more?
From the list at the top of this thread, I have finished the first two books in the Penn Cage series. If you read book #2, we would be at the same point in the six book series with The Devil's Punchbowl. I own book #3 in the Amos Decker series but have not read the first one yet.
