Mine is White Noise by Don DeLillo. I've had a mixed experience with his books, but this one sounds interesting.

4. Alias Grace by Atwood, Margaret

Funny I voted for Alias Grace in our January poll but it worked out for me this year. Glad I get to read one of my favorite authors at years end.

I've been "spoiled" these last two months. I just finished The Tree of Man by Patrick White (zzz...), then my #4 for December is The Waves by Virginia Woolf. After that, I really need a new list!

These rules won’t change. If your ready you can post your 2023 lists here. I will delete the 2022 lists on 1/1/23 or there about. We do this to conserve on folders because GR restricts the numbers. Just be sure to label your list 2023 TBR Takedown or something that says 2023. The first number will be drawn on 12/25/22. Your Christmas present from Reading 1001. Best wishes for the holidays if you celebrate and hopefully quality reading time.

My #10 is Timbuktu which one reviewer refers to as akin to Virginia Woolf at her most coherent. Hmmm. I thought it was about a dog. Oh well, Timbuktu it is.

My #10 The Devil and Miss Prym by Paulo Coelho. This will be my first Coelho. Reviews from my friends seem to be all over the place.

Devil and miss Prym for me as well, Diane. I have only read The Alchemist by him before, which I didn’t like, just lots of banalities summarised in one book. Hopefully this is better.

I have read both Coelho books on the list, and while I didn't hate them I don't understand why they are on the list and I have zero interest in reading anything else by him. It's a quick read at least!

My #10 is The Purloined Letter so it should be quick. I resolve to make a good start on both Annual and Quarterly read next month - but first I have to finish Moby Dick

Looks like I'm reading HG Wells for January, Tono-Bungay. I am also hoping to dive into the annual and quarterly reads early on to get a good start for 2023.

Good start for the year: my #10 is the last Perec I have to read from the List: A Man Asleep. Short and very likely to be as pleasant as his other books.

My February read is Wittgenstein's Nephew. A short read for a short month! (Also, the 22 of February is my birthday, so I'm taking this a sign that I will like the book. lol)
