I read this book in middle school so it's for that demographic; around 2008-2010.

Various dispersed details include:

-I think this series is a trilogy but I might be wrong
-The boy had 2 sisters, one older sister who had brown eyes and could not see the magic world; one baby sister who had two green eyes.
-The boy could only see the magic world through his green eye.
-His mother was I believe in a wheelchair
-There was a scene where he helped rescue a selkie who had been captured as a seal and was turning back into a girl. He took her out of a zoo (?) and brought her to water before helping her back to the magical world
-I think there was an evil sphinx cat who worked for the bad guys?
-The uncle was a goblin I believe
-I think I remember the boy talking with a cat in the beginning of the book
-There was a dragon at one point, who was involved in killing the big bad at the end of the book series. That involved the dragon attempting to risk his death by drowning in a lake to kill the bad guy in the process.

YES that is it! Thank you so much! I remembered the name of the trilogy had an E as the name of the world but I got the book title and trilogy title mixed up, thinking it was "The Secret World of E__" this whole time.
