Hi Berra!

message 18: by Evie (new)

Evie I finished this My Sister, the Serial Killer by Oyinkan Braithwaite book today and it does not fit into any category for the Appetizer, so are their any extra ingredients that fit with the recipe anyone wants me to check for?

message 19: by Aly (new)

Aly (alyp_01) | 28931 comments Mod
I found a recipe that has ginger, lemongrass, onion, lime, pepper, and salt. Can you do any of those?

message 20: by Evie (new)

Evie Good for ginger, I will post in a minute, thanks!

Ellen-Arwen Tristram | 2341 comments I'm a bit confused about how we meet the prompts and have extra ingredients and stuff - sorry! I don't think the books I've read so far contribute though...

So, in the show chopped each contestant gets a basket filled with 4 ingredients. From those 4, they have to create a dish based on that round - appetizer, entree, or dessert. The 4 ingredients alone won't be able to make the whole dish, so you have to use other ingredients in order to make it. That's why you only have tasks for the 4 ingredients you get from that basket. Anything else you need to use needs to be found in text, on the cover, or books from the food lists mentioned in the REMEMBER on the review thread..

Ashlyn | 5987 comments I'm halfway through Two More Days by Colleen Hoover , and it has a story that is set in Asia. I should be finished with it in a few days if no one has has anything for Bok Choy by then.

Berra | 451 comments I have a book for Oyster Sauce An Ember in the Ashes (An Ember in the Ashes, #1) by Sabaa Tahir The author's initials are S.T. so it fits in. I'll be done in a few days as well.

Do we have to get in authors' initials with O, Y, E, R, SAUCE as well? Sorry for being ignorant!

message 29: by Ellen-Arwen (new)

Ellen-Arwen Tristram | 2341 comments Just to check, I'm reading The Ten Thousand Doors of January which has 384 pages. Does the 8 have to be at the end to count for octopus or will this be okay? Thanks!

We already finished the baby octopus category so we don't need an 8 in page count

message 32: by Ellen-Arwen (new)

Ellen-Arwen Tristram | 2341 comments So we only need one of each? Do we make multiple appetisers?

Ellen-Arwen wrote: "So we only need one of each? Do we make multiple appetisers?"

I think once the appetizer is finished, we'll get new categories to make a main course

Ellen-Arwen wrote: "So we only need one of each? Do we make multiple appetisers?"

You make one appetizer dish. After the four ingredients are completed, you start making your dish with other ingredients either found in text, on the cover of your book, or using the food list option. After you gather everything, and your dish is complete, you post what you dish is on the team's review thread. Then you get a new basket.

Hello team! Adding Simone!

message 36: by Simone (new)

Simone (simonec75) I think I have a book that fits Bokchoy. The title is: The Emily Dickinson Cookbook. It's poetry, biography/memoir, and cookbook all in one. Would that count?

Berra | 451 comments Simone wrote: "I think I have a book that fits Bokchoy. The title is: The Emily Dickinson Cookbook. It's poetry, biography/memoir, and cookbook all in one. Would that count?"

I don't think we need any more categories for now
