Michelle | 386 comments It seems books can have either the ASIN or the ISBN, but not both.

Why not? And can that be submitted as a feature fix?

While it makes sense for a Kindle version, it does not make sense for other versions (paperbacks, etc).

Not everyone uses Amazon. While books on here should be able to be found using the ASIN, probably making it easier to link to Amazon, it's a disservice to GR users (and non-Amazon shoppers) to be unable to search and find that same book using the ISBN instead.

The below paperback is an example. Even the Amazon listing shows both numbers. Yet I can only include one or the other, making search results inaccurate.

https://www.amazon.com/Wendigo-Whoop-...

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5...

This should be fixed to allow both numbers.

This isn't the correct group to ask for changes or explanation on how the Goodreads cataloging system works - & Goodreads librarians (who are volunteers) have little to no influence on GR policies.

Please make your suggestion in Help or use the Contact Us link at the top of this group if you would like to speak to Support (Staff).
